Cool cheap lens. But that's what it is. Don't expect AF to work well on a modern camera. In MF on 75-125ish it shot slightly worse than my kit 15-45 EF-M. But that's expected with the higher range. Too much noise however requires a lot of photoshop and resolution scale down to make good images.
Want to reduce the prize to previous
I picked this lens up for its range. I use it on a T2i. I'm more of a wide-angle guy so I just wanted this lens for when the urge struck me to take pictures of birds and far away things.
cheap; light; long
soft and CA at wide apertures
Perfect for starters. Learn to work with speed and stability of the lens. And able to learn the proper application in fucosing the subject of the picture.
When looking for a quality lense for a name brand camera, as a hobby photographer, everything usually breaks down into two groups: Lenses intended for professional or career photographers that cost more than you are willing to pay. Specialty lenses that have a more limited use but fit your budget.
Fairly low light; retains all automatic functions
Large and moderately heavy
I use it for outdoor scenery, and have taken some great shots. It's a little slow to focus which at times makes me lose my shots.
Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Strong Construction
Blurry Focus; Slow Focus
Really good product, with highly applauding performance. Image quality is simply awesome. 5 stars for that.
When I bought my Canon 1100D DSLR camera it came as part of a package with a camera case and two lenses. One of the lenses was this Canon 75mm-300mm zoom lens. ~ Price ~ This lens costs £108.01 from Amazon.co.uk or £76.89 reduced from £110.95 from Play.com.
good quality results; good to experiment with
bulky and heavy; not as versatile as other lenses
This lens is like the 50mm 1.8--you need to have it in your case now and perhaps forever—until you have a lot more money, these are the lenses you're going to use all the time. The kit lens also falls into this category.
Inexpensive; Necessary; Useful
Blurry Focus; Poor in Low Light; Slow Focus
