I am rather disappointed with their performance. I bought them for birding lakes and estuaries to replace my trusty Zeiss West 15x60 binoculars. The problem is I can no longer hand-hold 15x steady enough to get the benefit of the high magnification.

The image stabilization works beautifully and for viewing game at high power and long ranges it is essential. I really was amazed at the stabilization. I did not feel however that the optics quality and clarity was up to the price tag!

no lens covers; strange eye cups
The Canon 15x50 IS All Weather binoculars will set you back a hefty sum (£676), but they're worth every penny if you're an outdoors enthusiast. With 50mm lens and a whopping 15x magnification, they don't come much better than this.
After having waited 2 plus weeks for another supplier to provide my binoculars and their not being able to tell me when the goods might arrive, I turned to Mark at Smifu. He was professional, did not give me false hopes, and checked availability - in contrast to the other supplier!
This is an amazing optical system. The IS System is stellar and for normal lighting, I highly recommend these binoculars. However, control of light in difficult circumstances is not up to the standard of the world-class (European) optics -- Zeiss and Swarovski, in particular.
Unrivalled powerful stable image, just needs strong hands to hold for long periods. Can't be beat for tripod free viewing of moving subjects.
Stable image for the super power; rugged for outdoors; good low light optics
Too big and heavy for small hands; eats batteries; IS image can drift
I bought the 15 x 50 IS binoculars primarily for plane spotting. I had previously used a pair of the 10 x mag Canon IS binoculars and was impressed with the optical quality.I have been using a pair of 12 x 50 bins and a 30 x 80 telescope for some years but wanted something a bit 'up market' that...
Easy to Use; Great Resolution
Carry Case; Price
I had for some time been thinking about getting a good quality set of binoculars for astronomy and last year decided that the Canon 15x50 IS would be very suitable for my needs.
I love these binocs.
I spend my time looking at the moon through these binocs; which looks like you can reach out and touch it.
There are no caps for the lenses and the caps for the oculars do not stay on very well.
I love these binocs. I highly recommend them to anyone.
I spend my time looking at the moon through these binocs, which looks like you can reach out and touch it; I was amazed to see how clearly I can pick up Jupiter and its moons; I can even see conglomerations of starts.
There are no caps for the lenses and the caps for the oculars do not stay on very well; You can not change the batteries whilst the binocs are mounted on the tripod.
