Call of Duty WW2 Review – War Has Changed Back

Call of Duty WW2 is the best game in the franchise in years. It's a return of the gameplay fans have been clamoring for, and streamlines the whole experience in a way that sheds a lot of the unwanted clutter we saw in Infinite Warfare .

Revitalized and streamlined multiplayer; Much improved Zombies mode; New features and gametypes are great

Some features are still not available; Campaign is well produced; but uninspired

Call of Duty: WW2 - The War Machine DLC Review

The War Machine's new multiplayer content has some high points, but also its fair share of duds. I count the large, versatile Egypt map as one of my favorites in all of Call of Duty: WW2, while I'd be happy without ever playing Domination or Hardpoint on the unbalanced Dunkirk map again.

(PlayStation 4 Review) Call of Duty: WWII

It says something about the trajectory of the Call of Duty series that a return to World War II makes it feel like a new setting-well, new-ish. As Private First Class Ronald ‘Red' Daniels, players take on the role of the archetypical "farm boy" who finds himself out of his depth, stomping around...

"Great game!"

I purchased this game to have a good time playing, and that is exactly what I got. The controls handle perfectly and the graphics are amazing. The campaign has a compelling story that makes you want to play it more, and the multiplayer is great.

Call of Duty: WWII (PlayStation 4) Review

Yay… boots on the ground! Hopefully that tiresome, overused phrase can finally be airlifted out of the gaming lexicon as Call of Duty is all about that terra-firma trench foot experience, baby.

GREAT COMEBACK

So far this Call of Duty has lived up to what it should have been all along. Haven't played a great COD campaign since the ‘Modern Warfare series’ but WWII has taken the cake. The Zombies gamemode has been great and the multiplayer hasn't had too many issues what so ever. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a fresh ‘World War II’ First person shooter.

Campaign was Enjoyable, PVP is same old same old.

I purchased COD WW2 for the campaign because I was excited that we were being taken back to WW2. The story and characters were enjoyable and very much made me want to keep playing through to see what happened next. PVP is very much the same old formula. Still fun when you just want some mindless FPS to kill some time, but I'm not going to push to prestige or anything this time around. I've not played Zombies much, but the mechanic seems simpler and what I did play was fun.

Call of Duty: WWII

The Call of Duty (COD) franchise has always excelled in some areas and fallen short in others. The latter more notably has been the quality and believability of storytelling, with each recent iteration of the game trying to push the envelope as far as warfare goes, and adopt a more futuristic tone.

Superb attention to detail; A more engaging storyline; Sharp gameplay

Slightly short campaign; Unexpected deaths; Plane mechanics finicky

PS4 Review - 'Call of Duty: WWII'

Buy Call of Duty: WWII After four games that featured progressively futuristic abilities, maps, and weapons, Call of Duty: WWII marks a return to a historical setting. It continues the trend of providing three ways for players to get their gaming fix: campaign, multiplayer, and the zombies mode.
