Battlefield: Hardline is a lateral move for the series. Despite getting the solo mode treatment from someone with more experience in Visceral Games, Hardline's campaign comes off as merely passable. Multiplayer is where the meat is though, and that's always been the case.

The old Battlefield brilliance is still there, but the familiar gameplay fails to take advantage of the cops and robbers setting.
