It doesn't seem like so long ago that scores of critics were crowded into a San Franciscan cinema watching a 4K-resolution live play-through of what would later turn out to be the opening level of Battlefield 4.

We are quick to visualize vehicular combat and destruction at its finest on large-scale maps when we think of the Battlefield franchise. DICE's success is not only due to providing enjoyable content, but to also be continually striving towards improving every aspect of gameplay.
+ Destruction on a perfected scale; + Large; open warfare; + Gorgeous visuals; + Endless amount of content; + Improved online squad features
- Single-player squad commands fall flat; - AI is predictable and doesn't offer much difficulty
A bombastic start to the next generation of shooters, especially in multiplayer.
An incredible next-gen game engine; Stellar map design; One of the best team shooters ever
Single-player campaign is short and narratively nonsensical; Some irksome respawn points
Awesome game. Excellent graphics. Hardly lags. (Recommended)
Multiplayer shooters don't get better than Battlefield 4. Incredible destruction, smart map design, and solid tech combine to produce a true showcase for PS4 and PC. While solo play still lags behind, it's a big step up from BF3.
Multiplayer is genre-leading; again; Levolution and destruction is amazing; Single-player is much improved..
...but the story is nonsense; Defuse mode falls flat

Looks like a true next gen game; Plays as good as any FPS; Gripping story; Frostbite 3 engine is a step forward; Multiplayer has set a new standard in its genre
Finding a friend that can fly a Helicopter/Fighter Jet without crashing; because I have no hope
"Battlefield 4 delivers the best online shooter experience of the year."
In the six years between Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 3 , Electronic Arts released several expansions and an attitude-infused spinoff of their military shooter franchise, meaning not a single year has gone by without some new BF-branded product.
High-fidelity action; More vehicular slaughter; Entertaining campaign; Varied online modes; Expansive; flexible; changing maps; Hundreds of hours of unlocks; Drop-dead gorgeous; but flexible for many systems; Commander Mode; 64-player multiplayer on PC (and next-gen consoles
Varied online modes; Hundreds of hours of unlocks
What a wonderful time it is to be a gamer when video games can visually compare themselves to what can be found in a movie theater. Battlefield 4 on PlayStation 4 vivaciously delivers on all fronts, and the issues the PlayStation 3 version has are all but gone, leaving the AI the only thing left...
Finally, it's almost how it should be
