ASUS and NETGEAR have no qualms about having early adopters and Wi-Fi naifs shell out big bucks for the honor of beta-testing their first draft 802.11ax/Wi-Fi 6 routers. But they have been in no hurry to get product to reviewers.

Setup is really easy, about few steps, less than 5 mins, work with Fios modem. I will suggest you can set it up in AP/bridge mode in the interface. This new router provides greater coverage than those I have before, basically compatible with all gears I have, 8 LAN ports are good to work with Apple...
It is a bit of a bummer (well not a bit, a massive one) that AX clients are not yet available to the consumer, otherwise, I would have to see what this puppy can really do. But realistically 99.99% of the WIFI clients out there are either 2.4 Ghz N/G, and 5 GHz AC based, which these days is labeled...
Wireless standards come and go, and too often they are more marketing hype than any sort of meaningful, practical improvement (looking at you WiGiG). In an effort to simplify wireless standards, 802.11ac was renamed to 'Wi-Fi 5,' while the latest standard, 802.11ax, is dubbed 'Wi-Fi 6' by the Wi-Fi...
The Asus RT-AX88U is a speedy Wi-Fi 6 router loaded with robust features and powerful software.
Speedy performance; Easy to install; Uses the latest 802.11ax technology; Eight LAN ports; Robust QoS settings; Built-in malware protection
Expensive; AX clients are scarce
Router was of excellent quality and signal strength for about 12 days until the nightly reboot on the 12th day caused the wireless to drop out and never come back on. Resetting, power-cycling and reflashing the firmware have had no effect.
I'm sold. I knew that 802.11ax would mean faster Wi-Fi, but the reality is better than I'd dared hope for. Not only is it massively faster than 802.11ac at short range, it maintains that huge advantage through obstacles and over long distances.
Stunningly fast with 802.11ax clients; Strong performance over 802.11ac; Plenty of ports and features
Fiddly firmware; Less bandwidth than tri-band models
Very useful features such as traffic monitor not really seen this on many routers I have had.Signal strength very good no need for wifi Extender now.
The Asus RT-AX88U is a superbly fast router that is both functional and decisively future-proof
Stunningly fast with 802.11ax clients; Strong performance over 802.11ac; Plenty of ports and features;
Fiddly firmware; Less bandwidth than tri-band models;
