When I saw this game demoed at E3, I knew I had to have it, I will be putting in my preorder asap, but I don't like having to wait almost a year. Those explosion effects were jaw dropping!

Anthem's VIP demo show-cased it's visual treats and world-building chops, but also a lot of lingering, potential technical issues that might dampen the experience. at launch.
This Anthem review contains my experiences with the game after 40 hours of gameplay and following extensive testing of the day one patch. I have blasted through every story and side mission, while also diving deep into the endgame.
Iron Man simulator; Visually stunning; Free DLC
Uninspired story; Technical hiccups remain; Tags
After a week in paid early access on PC (and a 10-hour trial on Xbox One) Anthem is finally out in the wild and has been updated with the all-important day one patch. We've been playing all week, both before and after the bug-squashing update, and it's finally time to sum up our thoughts on a game...
While it was teased only a few years ago, Anthem's been in the oven quite some time, so to speak. The highly anticipated looter shooter is finally out, but not without its share of issues.
Javelins are awesome; Loads of customization; Combat is solid; Bastion is beautiful
Creepy animations; Dull story; Controls could use some polish; Needs more content
This review has taken many different shapes over the last week and a half that I have spent with Anthem . If you'd asked me a week ago what I thought of Bioware's first foray into the ‘games as a service' category, I'd have told you I was tearing my hair out.
shaken apart by its own identity crisis
Anthem may never get the chance to live up to its potential due to a series of unfortunate game design decisions and issues. The first IP from BioWare in over ten years displays moments of grandeur with fun and unique gameplay that unfortunately is undermined by the game's current condition.
This game is actually really good. Big maps, lots of good gun play, plenty of variety and it is really fun to play. This game is a mix between destiny and mass effect, but without all the issues (and the painful pvp cry babies who get awesome weapons nerfed and just ruin games for all involved). You have the storytelling style of ME but not as in depth, allowing you to follow along the story and have the option to not have to talk to lots of random strangers (remember to be cautious of stranger danger kids) in order to get the best gear. The over the shoulder 3rd person style fighting handles really well and the freedom to fly around the map and even under water is pretty cool. This game may have similar points here and there but it is no destiny. Go on try it out, you won't regret it.
