The iPhone 12 has easily the best display of any entry-level Apple phone and the move to high-resolution OLED is a brilliant one
Snappy design; Shoot and edit in Dolby Vision; 5G; at last; Blazing-fast performance
The iPhone 12 has easily the best display of any entry-level Apple phone and the move to high-resolution OLED is a brilliant one
Snappy design; Shoot and edit in Dolby Vision; 5G; at last; Blazing-fast performance
For that group of people who want a new iPhone, but just can't justify the price of the iPhone 12 Pro range, this is a great choice without having to feel like you are settling for second best.
OLED display; More powerful processor; Better camera experience; Dolby Vision support; MagSafe; 5G
No telephoto lens; Smudges easily; Colours aren't as playful as previous years; Price bump over previous year
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are the more sensible half of Apple’s new smartphone range for 2020, and that’s as it should be. Nestling right at the heart of the mobile market, they replace the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro as the go-to choice for savvy shoppers, and this time around the list of...
Physical design looks and feels great; Excellent cameras; A14 Bionic performance is stellar
5G is nice; but not reason alone to upgrade; Battery life doesn't match last year; Still Lightning not USB-C
More than most years, there are a lot of things that are new in the iPhone 12. Apple has loaded in the usual upgrades like a faster processor and improved camera, but that’s something we’ve come to expect.
Excellent camera; Elegant design; Promising MagSafe ecosystem; Upgraded display
The 5G tax; Battery is a small regression; More expensive
“The iPhone 12 offers incredible value for $799, and calls into question how many people need to buy a 12 Pro.”
Excellent camera performance; Fast and consistent software; Beautiful and colorful hardware; Good battery life; 5G connectivity
Light body feels a bit cheap; MagSafe offers little right now
The main takeaway from my time with iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini is that across the board, the average iPhone user likely won't need the features that the iPhone 12 Pro offer
Features a great-looking OLED screen; Redesign is great; Specs are very similar to the iPhone 12 Pro
It's more expensive than the iPhone 11 was at launch; No telephoto lens; Some might not be fond of the redesign
Apple's iPhone 12 is probably the one you should get. Save that $200 and put them towards some cool accessories.
New design is pretty and compact; OLED screen; finally! MagSafe is cool and has potential; Outstanding performance; One of the best cameras on a smartphone
No charger; no headphones in the box; 64 GB of storage is fine; but feels a bit stingy in current ecosystem; No telephoto lens; No ultra high refresh rate
The iPhone 12 isn’t just the right iPhone for most people, it’s one of the best smartphones ever made.
Fantastic display with an elegant design, Excellent camera with spectacular low-light capabilities, Insanely good performance and battery life, 5G future-proofing
No 120Hz ProMotion or always-on display, No telephoto camera
The iPhone 12 is a great all-around device and a good middle-ground between the cheaper iPhone 12 Mini and SE and the more expensive iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. If you’re looking at the iPhone 12 series, the middle of the road iPhone 12 should be the one to get for most people.
The new design and colours are nice (especially the blue), Great camera and can shoot Dolby Vision video (at 30fps), Good battery life with long standby time, A14 Bionic offers quick performance, Wireless charging and fast charge support, The OLED screen looks great and is the same as the iPhone 12...
iOS 14 needs a bit more work, More expensive than the previous models, The MagSafe ecosystem is cool and has potential but not great now
In a very Samsung-esque style this year we saw Apple announce four new models of the iPhone 12 at one time. Only two are available for purchase now, with two more coming this month.
Gorgeous flat glass OLED; Flat matte edges; Vibrant blue color; iOS 14 with Android elements; 5G; Loud stereo speakers
Volume buttons tough to feel; Rather expensive
