The Apple iPad 10th gen sits towards the lower end of the iPad range, combining features from the pricier iPad Air 2022 with those from the previous budget iPad. A price rise this year, and the decision Apple has made to keep the 10.2-inch iPad 9 from 2021 around, means this is no longer the true...
The design is a massive upgrade, USB-C is far more convenient than Lightning, Smart front camera placement, Unbeatable tablet apps and software, Design is key: The new design makes this the most tempting base iPad upgrade in a while.
Huge price jump, especially in Europe makes its position in Apple’s iPad range confusing, Odd Apple Pencil integration, 64GB isn’t enough (256GB probably too much), You’re on a tight budget : The previous-gen model might not look as good, but it’s a lot more affordable and remains very capable.
The 10th-gen iPad is a great tablet, but one that is a little too expensive for what it is, particularly in the UK. It finally brings Apple’s lower-end tablet up to scratch with the rest of the line, with a more modern design. It is responsive, lasts a long time and is well made.
Pros: more modern design, good performance, good battery life, good screen, stereo speakers, USB-C, iPadOS with long support life, plenty of apps, recycled aluminium, great web camera.
Cons: expensive, no multi-user support, relatively small storage on the starting model with no way to add more, screen gap, not compatible with case accessories made for other iPad models.
If you're after an everyday tablet to watch movies on, clear some emails, make some video calls and surf the web, the iPad (10th generation) is a fantastic option. It is a perfect blend of features and value for money, and with its upgraded design, it's likely to become the new go-to iPad for most...
Great design upgrades, Solid performance, Good battery life, Big display, Touch ID, Excellent features, Logical front camera position, USB-C
No Apple Pencil (2nd gen) compatibility, No anti-reflective or fully laminated display, No Stage Manager support, Base storage still 64GB
