Until Dawn review

Weird, gory and surprisingly moving - Sony's long-delayed slasher tribute is a flawed but memorable step forwards for "interactive movies".

Until Dawn Review – Grab Your Nightlight and Dive Into This Masterpiece

How do you define a game? How do you define entertainment? Can they be defined? In recent years, the lines between games and other media forms have become increasingly blurry – Until Dawn obliterates the line entirely.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood Review – Satisfyingly Spooky

Whilst Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is supposed to belong to the same family as the 2015 cult-hit thriller Until Dawn, outside of a few cameos from some of the characters, there really is no reason for this to be grouped into the Until Dawn franchise.

Until Dawn - A Night to Remember

Until Dawn is best described as an interactive film; it's what you'd get if someone made an R-rated movie out of a Goosebumps "choose your own adventure" book. Cut scenes and dialogue make up almost half of the game, and the actual gameplay often comes down to picking one of two options, or...

Genuinely tense; Enjoyable; compelling story; Replayable

Overly reliant on quick time events; Controls a little clunky at times; Much of the tension is gone the second time round

Until Dawn review

Adventure survival horror Until Dawn had an unconventional path to market, beginning life as a PS3 Move title before getting a new-gen overhaul. Was it worth the effort? Chris emerges from the shadows with the verdict – or is that his evil twin?

Stunning graphics, animation, and strong acting holds the game together throughout; Choices that matter; Consequences that are permanent, and interesting twists on well-established horror mainstays; Mostly though it's scary as hell; Great replayability

Controls and the position shifting camera can be frustrating; Tone uneven in places, and a few ideas don't quite gel

If you're looking for blood, you've come to the right place. Until Dawn splashes the thick red stuff across walls and has it clotting on floorboards. It also throws it into your face: within the game's first 10 minutes, there's blood spilling out from bodies at the bottom of a cliff.

Until Dawn (PS4)

When I played and previewed Until Dawn last month, I emerged hooked and hoping that the final game would live up to its initial promise. The good news is, it definitely does. The story might sound familiar: eight friends converge on a remote mountainous resort on the anniversary of two of their...

High production values; Innovative butterfly effect dynamic; Plenty of mystery and suspense

A couple of cheap scares

Until Dawn review: The new canvas of horror

Horror is a canvas for indulging fear. Whether it's woven by actual gore or whispers of things unseen, horror allows us to engage with a view of the world that is both too real and yet impossible to accept.

Supermassive Games' upcoming B-movie-esque thriller, Until Dawn , is quite simply a string of binary choices coupled with stunning visuals and traditional quick-time events (QTEs).
