I've used Canon's 16-35mm and it's a good lens. But next to Tokina's 16-28, I don't see a reason to use one anymore besides easier use of filters. Filters can be used with this lens with some ingenuity.
Manufacturer: Tokina

Tokina is the smallest of the 3 big third-party manufacturers (Tokina, Tamron, Sigma). They offer a couple of fairly unexciting products but they're playing among the very best in one specific segment - ultra-wide angle lenses.
Extremely fast shipping. Lens is great and cheaper than anywhere else 5 star ratings from me
Extremely happy with this lens i am a real estate photographer and the lens so far has performed very well,it even saves me time in photoshop ,sharp great colour ,happy with my purchase
Purchased lens in August of 2017. Used a couple of times without issue then back in bag. Recently needed to for work shoot and my Canon 6D MK II. Lens was no longer sending aperture information to the camera. I called the manufacturer and this is a known issue with compatibility with Canon cameras.
This is a great little addition to anyone's kit. I have to going between the Nikons 14-24 and this 16-28 for quite some time now and the number one reason I opted the Tokina was the value. Depending on your style of shooting and what you photographdepends on your lens selection.
28; Close Focus; Durable; PriceValue
A little soft; Heavy
I strongly considered buying the Nikon 14-24mm over the Tokina, mainly because I shoot predominately weddings and weather sealing is a must. All the reviews I read said that the Tokina wasn't weather sealed, with no rear gasket present.
Durable; Rugged; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction; Weather sealed
like other writer; this lens is sharp.and sits on the nikon nicely,however now and again overexposes;which needs sorting on laptop,from time to time;
Excellent
Much bigger than most lenses, and at more than twice the weight of some, the Tokina AT-X 16-28mm f/2.8 PRO FX is a chunky lens. That's because while other lenses are designed solely for use on cameras with APS-C or Four Thirds sensors, the Tokina is fully compatible with full-frame cameras.
