The Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD is the first fast ultrawide zoom lens for full frame cameras to offer built-in image stabilization. It's slightly wider than the closest offerings from Canon (16-35/2.8) and Nikon (17-35/2.8) but not quite as long when zoomed out.

When it comes to creating excellent wide-angle photos and giving the most bang for the buck to photographers, Tamron seems to have the formula almost perfect. With great colors, excellent sharpness, and a very versatile focal length range, a photographer would be thrilled to have the Tamron 15-30mm...

Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD

The Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD ($1,199) couldn't have been an easy lens to design. It covers an extremely wide angle of view, has a maximum f/2.8 aperture, zooms, and is optically stabilized to boot.

Sharp; Optically stabilized; Maximum f/2.8 aperture throughout zoom range; Integrated lens hood; Ultra-wide field of view; Close focus capability; Available for Canon, Nikon, and Sony systems

Lots of distortion; Bulky; No filter support; Some flare issues

I am beyond impressed. It is a rather large lens, physically speaking. It uses more plastic than I'd like. But, and this is a big but for me, the quality of the images are at the very least as good as and in some areas better, in my opinion, than the legendary Nikon 14-24 and a bit longer reach too...

Amazing

Have used this product now for a week plus. The results are amazing. Captures full breadth of the scenes. Sharp corner to corner. Am getting good results so far.

Better than I expected.

Love this lense. Very sharp in the corners and the image stabilization is incredible. I only wish it was a bit lighter and could take filters, but other than that I can't complain about the results

Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD SP

A very impressive lens, producing a high quality image wide open at all focal lengths. The lens appears to be a bit sharper at shorter focal lengths than at the long end, but the difference is minor.

Exceptional sharpness; high build quality; good VR; fast and bright; wide open image quality excellent

My favorite lens with an amazingly sharp picture, as I wanted. Funny enough price for quality equipment

Doubtful stabilizer; To be honest, his work is almost not visible; If rapid change in focal length gives off an unpleasant \"plastic\" sound

A very sharp throughout the entire range, specific features in the wide-angle, 15 to 22 mm; Chromatic aberrations are minimal and easy to ruling in DxO; Perfect lens for interior and - especially landscapes; Excellent detail, qualitative study of overexposed parts in the sky.

My New Favorite Lens!

#sweepstakes - First, let me say I love all of my Tamron lenses, and the 15-30mm has been a great addition. I've had it for about 2 months now, and I've used it almost every time I've gone out.

Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Lens Review

I thought that Tamron had outdone itself first with its 70-300mm lens and then with the 24-70mm f/2.8 and 90mm f/2.8 Macro lenses: all bearing the SP (super performance), VC (vibration compensation), Di (digitally integrated primarily for full-frame sensors), and USD (ultrasonic silent drive)...
