Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD Lens review

The performance of some new lenses can be quite extraordinary, as is the sharpness in this case. Basically, whatever setting we choose the central sharpness will be excellent. At some points, the sharpness centre and edge is so close it can be considered to be totally even.

Superb sharpness, Fast, bright maximum aperture, Low CA, Modest vignetting, Fast and quiet AF, Tamron Lens Utility software controls, Moisture resistance, Pleasing bokeh and overall look

Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD

I really enjoyed using the Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 during my time with this lens. I can see it replacing a bag of wide-aperture primes and zooms singlehandedly – a huge gift for photographers who don’t have the option to change lenses, such as fast-paced event photographers or landscape...

Remarkable combination of focal length range and wide maximum aperture values, Excellent sharpness at the wider/normal focal lengths; still good at the longer ones, Very good chromatic aberration performance, Great build quality with tight tolerances and effective weather sealing, Advanced handling...

Potentially objectionable flare when the sun is in the frame, Out-of-focus specular highlights can take on an onion-ring texture, No teleconverter compatibility

Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD Lens review

Tamron has developed a unique fast all-round lens for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras. It offers outstanding optical quality and an extended zoom range. Thanks to its large aperture throughout the zoom range, it can potentially replace several prime lenses.

Tamron 35-150 mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD

The price of the Tamron 35-105 mm amounts to $1800 and is not low. Still if you deal with a lens that offers you unique parameters you have to take it into account. On the other hand currently such producers as Sony, Canon, Panasonic, or Nikon often offer their standard lenses for similar sums of...

unique parameters,, very good image quality in the frame centre across the whole focal range,, good image quality on the edge of the APS-C sensor,, negligible longitudinal chromatic aberration,, good control of lateral chromatic aberration,, moderate distortion on the APS-C sensor,, low...

too weak image quality on the edge of full frame at the minimum focal length,, too high pincushion distortion at the longer end of the focal spectrum,, distinct vignetting on full frame,, some problems with spherical aberration,, problems with a stronger stopping down of the aperture.
