TP-LINK TL-WA850RE Universal WiFi Range Extender - N300, Single-band
Pros:
- This model has worked for us in the past
- so probably it works
Cons:
- Nightmare
- Couldn't set it up despite multiple attempts and tried all possible ways after searching online
- Even the Quick Start guide does not give correct information as was revealed when look through their website for troubleshooting
- Still waiting for some fix which may make it work

Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy
Simplest device I've ever had to set up. We have Xfinity with the wireless gateway router - setting up with the TP Link extender was as easy as it gets. Plug in the extender next to the router; hit the WPS button, wait for the lights to come on. BOOM! Done!

Works as expected, but had to fiddle with it. Make sure to turn on DHCP on this repeater, letting the host do the DHCP is brutal, it takes forever to get an IP address, if it gets one at all. Otherwise, allowing it to host the IP addresses ensures it always works.

Overall impressed and it actually works.
We had returned a chrome cast and Smart VU thinking they were faulty as we couldn't play 4K iTunes videos and Freeview movies stalled a lot and our iPhone wouldn't connect to the wifi from the lounge and so after all the frustration decided to get the tp-link and wow I am so surprised it actually...

Better than the expensive ones
My extender packed in so bought a Netgear one. This kept kicking me out ....rubbish. I threw this away and bought this cheaper TP link one. Really easy to set up and works with my BT hub. Highly recommend.

Easy Setup
Extender coupled with cable wireless modem quickly using WPS button on modem and button on extender. Signal strength was not the best when trying different locations away from the modem to use extender but it still improved the wireless connection at distances from the modem that had been a problem.
