Ethernet Connections are on the Front

Great item, works perfectly! If I had to do it again, I would have chosen one that has ALL the connections towards the rear (Ethernet and power supply). It would have suited my personal application better. All good, simple modification makes it doable.

Excellent plug and play option.

I was very happy with the product, although I only had to use it for a short period of time. It worked very, very well for my situation.

Easy set up, operation and use, Small footprint; It takes up very little room, The indicator lights are very easy to understand

Super Switch

This little 5 port switch is just what we needed, in fact, we have the 8 port too. Its metal casing makes it tough, very energy efficient and a great price. The fact we can setup the items we need without needing to configure lots of complicated stuff was/is just ideal.

Same features as the bigger models... but no web UI.

Packaging and Un-boxing: The TP-LINK TL-SG105E ships in a thin cardboard box, wrapped in plastic and cradled by foam. It comes with the following items: TP-LINK TL-SG1016DE 5-Port Gigabit Easy Smart Switch Power cord Rubber "feet" Installation Guide Resource CD Wrap-Up: Affordable layer-2 switch...

First impressions (before powering up and setting up): Can be wall mounted / desktop situated; This switch is more than over-kill for a regular home network… however I do like the fact that it is very energy efficient (shuts off ports that aren't active, adjusts power based on cable length).

Powering up and setting up: Plug it in and let it rip; It's default IP address is 192.168.0.1; Configuration is done via the Easy Smart Configuration utility ONLY… that's a huge disappointment; Whenever you try to navigate to the switch via the Web UI… nothing loads.

I found the product very troublesome, The software to set it up is bad. I eventually stopped using it and reverted back to my old switch which seemed to handle things better.

Plug and play.

Just a dumb switch. Plug-and-play. Not much to say except that I use it to extend the number of hardwire ports on my home router. Most residential routers have 2 or 4 ports available, if any (wifi routers sometimes have none).

Very good Computer switch

Just finished installing our computer lines and equipment. So far so good!! The unit switches between the internet, a computer and a server with no detected issues. In short it appears to be doing its job. In some applications 5 ports may not be enough, but in ours it fills the need.

Solid

Bought very similar units from TP over the years. all have been rock solid work horses. This one installed within 5 sec and took over for a neutered router I had rigged into a switch like a champ. Metal Body, solid contraction simply does its job. What's not to love

I would not give it just a 3 out of 5 just because it make a bit of noise, pathetic.

The device does what it says on the box and does it well; Great build quality

A little noisy

It works

It does what it's supposed to do. Price is cheaper here than at other sites.
