Great option at the price point. My TV/ISP utilizes only networking cables instead of coax, so this splitter comes in handy when you have one ethernet Jack but multiple devices that you'd like to hardwire. Great that it supports 1000 mbps since that's the speed of the service I signed up for.
I find myself giving 5 stars when a product lives up to expectation. Well, this one did, so 5 stars. I guess I am just happy when stuff works. So far everything from local Office Depo works as presented. Good for them, I'll keep buying there.
Easy to Use
We just received this device a few days ago and hooked it up in our teen son's room. As is typical with his contemporaries he has multiple devices in his room a TV, x box, desktop, etc. As Soon as we fired up this device he saw instantaneous speed increases and fasted download times.
I've not used it extensively, but the general idea of these things is that "they make them cheap enough, so just buy another one when the last one dies for as 'cheap' as you can find it. This, is that. I had a 5-port switch running for some low priority server duty... Well, that died.
It does what it says, which is a big plus in the budget range of networking equipment :) Additional pros: this is a compact and stylish looking device, so if you want to mount it in a visible location (e.g., your home office desk) you won't shudder every time you look at it. Perhaps a con: it's very, very light – which means the weight of cables can drag it about. If you want the base to lie flat, you'll probably need to employ ghetto hax like bluetooth. For me this is minor – it's mounted behind my office monitor – but cable management might need a little extra thought.
