Costing $89.99, price is the object with TP-Link's economical Archer C7 router. It may lack some frills, such as automatic firmware updates or the latest technology for efficiently managing network traffic, but the router is a midrange performer that includes a pair of USB ports and the ability to...
Good 5-GHz performance for price; Two USB ports for connecting peripherals; On/Off switch for wireless transmissions; Parental controls for restricting Web surfing
USB ports use slower 2.0 spec; Subpar performance on the 2.4-GHz band
The Router Ranker shows the Archer C7 tied in second place with the ASUS RT-AC66U . Not bad for TP-LINK's (and QCA's) first effort in an AC1750 class router. The C7's weakest points are its 2.4 GHz downlink throughput and range.

We purchased this router because our old one was, well, old and bogged down with everything we were connecting to it. This one brought us into the 21st century and we aren't looking back.
I purchased one of these to replace our older Linksys wireless router. It was really quick to get it set up and running. With our old router, I generally had to reconnect to my office at least once per day. With this router, I have been able to stay logged in for days at a time.
I am really big into online gaming and my old router kept causing a ton of lag and I'd end up getting killed all the time. Some friends of mine already had this router and they were happy with it, so I decided to give it a try. I hooked it up and had it running really quickly.
As others have said, this doesn't work well with Virgin, using the SH2 I get a constant 100meg but when I put it into "modem mode" & connect through this I get anything from none to max 40meg!, I'm returning it as it's not fit for purpose.
The product is of an excellent quality and inexpensive… very easy with installation and operations. It is better than the Verizon's router of the same characteristics, but is costs 2.5 times less. I recommend customers of Verizon's FIOS give back to Verizon their router and buy/use this router.
