Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Review – The Incredible Game We Should Have Got 2-Years Ago

I've been playing Street Fighter since I was five years old, the SNES version of vanilla Street Fighter II being a huge gateway into all video games. Every new release brings me excitement…until Street Fighter V 's limited launch two years ago left a bad impression.

Great new modes; Vastly increased roster…for newcomers; New gold-tinted UI

DLC still behind paywalls; Difficulty spike can be NUTS

Wow so great! After months of dwelling in the rookie bracket I realized that I needed an edge, a refreshment on my fundamentals. So I scoured the depths of the Internet, when to my disbelief I found this! After my purchase I assemble my Boy Ryu and listened to my mentor...

Street Fighter V Review

The story has never really taken the forefront in the Street Fighter franchise and Street Fighter V is definitely not going to be bucking that trend – at least not yet. The game takes place between the events of Street Fighter III and the more recently released Street Fighter IV – giving Capcom more...

"Awesome addition to the Street Fighter franchise"

The game itself is good fun, from the classic characters to that familiar arcade feel. Easy to understand, perfect for challenging friends and family. The only downside would be the limited roster and the DLC being too expensive. If you love fighting games, then this is a must-have!

I have had a week of tearing my beard hair out. I have been waiting a long time for Street Fighter V (SFV) , but this isn't what I was waiting for. Not by a long shot. The fighting itself, the actual game part that, by most people's standards at least, is all that really matters, is amazing.

Beautiful game | Amazing combat systems

Lack of content | Server issues

Street Fighter V (PS4) Review

Street Fighter V is a strong entrant in the series, however , the apparently missing and/or neutered modes keep the game from being what it could have been. The promise of things like a shop for cosmetic items and a full story mode are only that at this point- promises.

When it comes to fighting games, there has always been one king franchise. Capcom's Street Fighter has always reigned supreme over the competition and is undoubtedly the biggest name in the fighting game genre.

We don't doubt that Street Fighter 5 will be more than it is today at some point, and it may not even take long to get there. The most important skeletal elements of a strong fighting game are here, and they set the stage for a fighter that should have the legs to carry it years down the road.
