The Zeiss lens is sharp from edge to edge, even at wide apertures, is very solidly constructed, and features a built-in focus motor. It's also a bit bigger and heavier than the less expensive standard 50mm f/1.4, but if you're in search of image quality above all, its extra size and cost are worth it.
