The RX100 has long been Sony's flagship Cyber-shot compact. It's the leader in its point-and-shoot squad, gathering up cutting edge features and high-performance components and stuffing them neatly into a pocket-sized camera.

Sony Cybershot RX100 IV review: Extensive manual controls, great imaging performance and good dynamic range makes it one of the best compact cameras, but the erroneous focusing system and the limited lens maybe a big disadvantage, for its price
Small; fits in trouser pockets; Good build; Excellent image quality; Good dynamic range; Extensive manual controls; WiFi connectivity; Excellent electronic viewfinder
Restricted range of lens; Autofocus mechanism does not work well; Weak battery stamina; No touch input; WiFi configuration is not the easiest
Every year, point-and-shoot cameras march closer towards their extinction as smartphones continue to eat their lunch. The only way for a point-and-shoot to stand out and earn your hard-earned money is to come armed to the teeth with high-tech features your phone doesn't have.
I bought this camera wanting and upgrade to the version I already owned. It was heavy and clunky, not as light weight as other versions. Not much difference in features bar more megapixels. Filming was easy and photos taken when filming were often better quality, especially when seeing a show.
One of the best small cameras I have ever used, just got back from a trip to Greece and Italy, took well over 1,000 photos and was very pleased with the focus speed and image quality.
Best autofocus and excellent shutter speed
Battery and wish it was thinner; but I am just being picky
The Sony RX100 IV is a high compact really extraordinary range. It enhances the experience of the previous incarnation, especially in terms of operating speed and video capabilities.
First off this is a superb camera I cannot think of another camera of this size with all the features it has. I will say that if you are not interested in 4K video then save yourself some money and buy the mark 3 version.
It seems that Sony enjoys putting amazing technology in as many of its cameras as possible. It doesn't matter if it is a high-end or entry-level product, or if it is a professional interchangeable-lens camera or a compact camera. Sony likes to impress.
It has all of the full manual control features that intermediate and advanced photographers crave, while also remaining easy enough to use that a beginner could pick it up and begin shooting great photos immediately.
Having owned two other editions of this model i'm more than happy with this Upgrade,an excellent little camera.
