Sony A7R Mark III A Body Only - Brand New review

It’s a great handset, but the improvements are so iterative that most of you will hardly notice what’s new.

Action mode offers truly superb video stabilization. eSIM makes it easy to switch phones (with other iPhones). Satellite SOS and Crash Detection add peace of mind.

Many of the specs remain the same as on the iPhone 13. Small battery gains. Photonic Engine isn’t as revolutionary as suggested.

Sony A7R Mark III A Body Only - Brand New review

Slightly better cameras but otherwise, not much of an update - buy the iPhone 14 Pro or switch to Android instead

Better low-light photography, Slightly longer battery life, Action mode gives super stabilised video

The same performance as the iPhone 13, No Dynamic Island or Always-On display, 60Hz screen

Sony A7R Mark III A Body Only - Brand New review

BIONZ X processing engines are some of the best ones on the market when it comes to speed and power. This Sony a7R III makes the image processing go up to 1.8x faster than other cameras, which is outstanding.

Great 4K HDR video recording with editing and viewing, Great low light results with an ISO range from 100 to 32000, Ultra-fast autofocus with up to 10fps with continuous tracking, 42.4 MP sensor for amazing photos with great clarity and detail, Fast image processing with a BIONZ X processing engine...

No touch capture, Defective sensor in some products

Subject tracking could be better in some situations Only one card slot supports UHD -II Can lag when writing, especially after continuous shooting Buffer can get in the way of shooting Main menu overly comprehensive and not user-friendly Touchscreen functionality is not very useful

Sony A7R Mark III A Body Only - Brand New review

The new Sony A7R III might not be as groundbreaking as its predecessor but it’s still one of the best cameras—mirrorless or otherwise—we’ve ever tested. The biggest difference between the A7R III and the previous model boils down to one main thing: speed. This cannot be overstated.

Scorecard, + Impressive resolution results, + Extremely fast overall, + 10 fps burst shooting helps capture action, + Improved battery life

- Slightly less dynamic range than previous model, - Only basic weather sealing, - Limited touch capability on rear screen

Sony A7R Mark III A Body Only - Brand New review

It was a little difficult identifying the A7R III when we first saw it in the flesh yesterday at Sony’s presser here in Singapore, simply because it shares much of the same design as the previous generation camera.

Sony A7R Mark III A Body Only - Brand New review

Hannah Stryker / Review Geek The iPhone 14 is the latest iteration of Apple’s flagship device. Since its launch, the iPhone has set the standard of what a smartphone is, what it does, and how it looks. Fifteen years later, it’s still doing that.

Top-notch cameras, Amazing display, Snappy performance, Great battery life

It's just "this year's iPhone"

Sony A7R Mark III A Body Only - Brand New review

The iPhone 14 isn't much of an upgrade over the iPhone 13, but it's still a great device and an upgrade for anyone coming from the iPhone 11 or older.

Great camera, Good battery, Emergency features are cool, Still excellent performance

Display could use some upgrades

Sony A7R Mark III A Body Only - Brand New review

The iPhone 14 is very similar to the iPhone 13, which itself was very similar to the iPhone 12. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad phone — it’s just less of an upgrade for anyone using a phone that’s only two years old.
