Sony A7R Mark III Camera Body ILCE7RM3B review

Although it has the same pixel count as the A7R II, the A7R III makes some significant improvements upon its predecessor. The handling is much improved by the addition of the Multi-Selector (mini-joystick) for setting the AF point.
Pros:
  • High-quality full-frame 42Mp sensor
  • 10fps continuous shooting
  • Silent shutter possible at 10fps
Cons:
  • Limited use made of the touch-screen
  • Complex menu that could still be better arranged
  • Only one SD slot is UHS-II compliant

Sony A7R III

The Sony A7R III is the company's latest professional 35mm full-frame compact system camera. It features the same back-illuminated full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor as its predecessor, the A7R II, with a resolution of 42.4 megapixels and no optical low pass filter, but offers a long list of significant...

Sony A7R III review

Despite its relative newcomer status to serious digital photography, Sony has made huge strides to catch up with its veteran rivals – and the A7R III is testament to that. Taking all the good bits from previous A7 models (the OLED viewfinder, solid build, full-frame sensor), perfecting certain things and adding a host of new features, it’s a truly brilliant enthusiast camera that’ll handle any photo or video task you could put in front of it: wildlife, portraiture, landscape, street photography, filmmaking. Yes, it’s a seriously expensive product, but top products usually are. Just know that if you can find the money down the back of the sofa, you’ll be getting one of the finest cameras around in return.
Pros:
  • Fast burst mode and autofocus
  • Superb all-round video and still quality
  • Lengthy battery life
Cons:
  • Large body by CSC standards
  • Screen tilts but doesn’t flip

Sony Alpha A7R III review: quite simply one of the best cameras in the world

The combination of 42.2MP, 10fps burst shooting and a very sophisticated AF system makes this a very attractive camera indeed: Sony has taken an already excellent mirrorless camera and made it even better.
Pros:
  • 42.2MP at 10fps
  • 5-axis IS system
  • Fast autofocus
Cons:
  • Battery could be better

Amazing Camera

I upgraded from the A7Rii and wasn't sure it would be worth it at first. I'm really glad I did!!! First, the auto focus on this camera is so fast. Finally there is a high quality full frame mirrorless camera that can focus like a top end DSLR. Second, they improved the battery!!!

Camera is amazing! B&H shipping packaging horrible!

When you save up for over a year for a camera, and then drop over 10k on switching systems, you'd think your camera would be packaged better than a GM 24-70, a Batis 85mm 1.8, some filters, a battery grip, and an Alpha a7rIII bouncing around in a box that is partially open from not enough packing...

Sony A7R III Review

Quite simply, the Sony A7R III is a ludicrously brilliant camera, and one of the very best on the market.
Pros:
  • Phenomenal image quality in almost any situation
  • Extremely fast and responsive
  • Compact, lightweight design with well-placed controls
  • Superb electronic viewfinder
  • In-body image stabilisation gives sharper images with any lens
Cons:
  • AF area is invisible when moved using the joystick
  • Rear screen only tilts up or down
  • Handgrip too close to the lens for shooting with gloves
