"Bought this lens 3 days ago now. I have been waiting for this lens since I tried the 35mm 1.4 ART. My expectation was very high and the few first shots on my nikon DF did not disappoint me !

There are no complaints to be made about the Sigma 85mm F1.4 DG HSM Art from an optical perspective-it's an impeccable performer, capturing images with loads of detail, even when shot wide open at f/1.4 It's the big f-stop that will draw photographers to the lens.
Extremely sharp; Bright f/1.4 aperture; No distortion; Even illumination; Available for multiple systems
Big and heavy; Omits image stabilization; Focus may require adjustment
In the trifecta of portrait lenses-85mm, 105mm, and 135mm-the 85mm focal length is the gateway. It's short enough for tight shooting spaces, while producing a real portrait look, yet versatile enough for use in other genres, including photojournalism, where a nifty 50 comes up a bit short.
Ever since Zeiss announced their Otus lens lineup, a race of catching up is on by the other vendors. The game started with the 50mm class and it moved on to 85mm lenses. This time we'll have a look at the latest contender here - the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 HSM DG Art.
Gorgeous lens!
The 85mm features a fast maximum aperture of f/1.4, working in perfect harmony with its 9 rounded diaphragm blades to produce beautiful bokeh in the out-of-focus areas.
Wow! Another top lens from Sigma's Art series. I am very impressed with the quality of this beast. The Sigma 85mm is fast, well built but large and heavy, but it is a FF f1.4. The bokeh is buttery smooth. Great contrast, vibrant colour producing a very sharp image.
I usually write reviews only when I am angry and not happy , but this is my first time I am writing a review about something I really love! this lens is amazing, I could not believe I could take such amazing sharp pictures. I love it to the maximum, a bit heavy, but it worth every penny .
Easily Interchangeable; Quick Focus; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction
