Since this lens arrived it has not been off my camera body, the sharpness and quality of the photographs I have been producing with this lens are fantastic. I cannot fault it as a macro. Amazing for portraits and wildlife pictures, such as insects. I would recommend this to anyone!
Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Lightweight; Quick Focus; Rugged; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction
This is an absolutely stunner of a lens, the image quality is superb and pin sharp, the focal range allows fantastic bokeh especially for portraits and macro photography, if your looking for a good portrait lens and dont want to pay a fortune then your search stops here, check out some pictures om...
The first thing I noticed is the ultrafast autofocus. The pictures come out extremely sharp, the colours and contrasts are amazing. I took a few pictures at f32 and the depth of field you get is just incredible, as sharp as can be from the most close object to infinity.
F32! Incredible depth of field! Nice coating on the lens; perfect colours and contrast
None so far :o
Sigma lenses are truly an inexpensive alternative to Canon or other brands higher priced models. The lens is amazingly powerful and precise for only a few hundred bucks. I know that I've wanted a macro lens for a long time but didn't think I could afford one.
Inexpensive excellent macro lens for beginner
Working distance isn't the greatest

I bought the lens for yourself. The lens is in exсellent condition. Auto focus works flawlessly. Pictures in the "macro" get great. I tried to do the usual shooting, the result was normal, but such surveys would recommend using a long-focus lenses and do not forget that lens is "macro".
I use this product ...for close up shots of non moving object, but this lens can be use for portrait photography, or even landscape...take it as a essential prime lens with very good macro capability....
Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Lightweight; Rugged; Strong Construction; Value low light
Auto focus noisee; Slow Focus
This is the single most valuable lens I own! Bar None! "I started drooling over bigger and faster zooms" But……… The Sigma 50mm f2.8 Macro lens will make you a better photographer if you will let it.
A nice lens with decent image quality and reasonable price. As a Macro lens it suits the needs. Sharpness and contrast are on the very good side. Gives a macro rendition of 1:1
Image sharpness is very good even for a tendency for excellence, Contrast is very good, The best point for this lens is its price; Compared to similar products, lenses from the camera manufacturers are much more expensive
Inner construction; The focus limiter is very fragile and might disengage/break from first attempt of engaging it, Lens hood is screw on and whenever attached the lens cap cannot be used, creating an inconvenience, The focusing ring rotates when on AF
