Not so sharp at f1.4, focus problem still remain, chromatic aberration. It is better than canon 50 f1.4 but price is so high.
Sharper than Canon 50 f1.4; nice build
Chromatic aberration; focus problem (font focus with me on Canon 600D); high price

This was my first lens for my a6300 almost 6 months ago. I was torn between this and sonys 35mm 1.8, but the crisp results from this lens were worth the distortion! Focusing can be slow, and the fly by wire isn't for me, but it's a good focal length that you can get a wide variety of shots with.
Amazing depth; Consistent Output; Durable; Lightweight; Sharp photos
Slow Focus
I've not used the lens too much yet, but seems pretty god in operation. Focus & quality appear good, & the large aperture is good for low light photography. The physical size is considerably more than the kit zoom supplied with the camera, so it loses something of it's "compact" convenience.
Disregard any reviews talking trash about this lens. Any issues with AF are certainly user error. If you use C-AF Wide w/Continuous Shooting, you get amazingly fast and accurate PDAF from f/1.4-f/8. Beyond f/8 youre stuck with Contrast Detect AF, which is fine but I try to generally stay below f/8.
Love this lens. It takes great photos and video, nice bokeh. The focus ring is a bit stiff, but manageable. This is a very nice prime lens for cropped sensor cameras!
One of best prime lenses in market
Excellent lens with super clarity and ease of use. Autofocus is brilliant. Received superb compliments from my friends and relatives on the pics from this lens. Now i realise ive wasted waytoomuch time with my kit lens.
The 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM Art is another solid entry in Sigma's prestige lens line-not the finest glass the company has to offer, but a marked improvement over the older (if cheaper) 30mm f/1.4.
A current member of Sigma's Art line of lenses, the 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM lens updates a popular model from 2005 with a new optical configuration, a new hypersonic motor (HSM) autofocusing drive and rear focusing system. Full-time manual focus override is supported.
The world of camera lenses can be separated into two main groups: zooms and primes. Prime lenses are those which...
