I have had a lot of lenses, and with time, I just keep 3 for my D800: One of those is this Sigma 24/1,4. The two others are the new Nikon 300/4 and the traditional Nikon 105 macro, but with this 24 art, sigma is to my point of view at the same level as Nikon, and much less expensive.

I bought this lens 2 months ago and have 3 other wide angle lenses that rate in the top of all reviews . The sigma 24mm f1.4 art is the best lens ive ever owned its so so sharp I have not even used the docking station that I own because its sharper than anything simply amazing hands down it deserves...

So has Sigma done it again ? Well, the Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM | A isn't flawless but pretty good nonetheless (keeping in mind that the test was performed on a 50mp sensor!). The center quality is nice straight at f/1.4 but the borders are plain soft here.

A f/1.4 lens is meant to be used wide open at least sometimes (otherwise an f/2.8 lens is sure to be cheaper, lighter, and just as good). This one does meet expectations. Images shot wide open are pretty sharp already, and above all very "clean".

This is more of a preview as I have yet to get my hands on this lens to test it out. I am however very excited about seeing how this lens performs given the quality and sharpness of the previous two prime ART series lenses from Sigma. ....watch this space!

This lens is the latest addition to Sigma's 'Art' line of lenses that promise excellent optical quality and increased creative options thanks to a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture. Being one of Sigma's top of the range lenses, it sports a hypersonic focusing motor, brass lens mount and build quality...

: Sony's A99 has the best high ISO ability of the three cameras here. It's a no brainer for event photographers.

I ordered this lens with the Sigma USB dock due to worrying about the focus being out of calibration after reading forums talking about this. As it turns out there was no need to worry at all. Focus is spot on on a Nikon D750 SLR body.
