Amazing lens for filming low light conditions!!
Consistent Output; Durable; Quick Focus; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction
Heavy
The most perfect lens I ever had :-) but be prepared that this is not a standard zoom lens, the magnification is not great from 24 to 35mm ;-)
Extremely bad front and back focusing issues. Even the ones that were in focus had low quality.
Great lens, but very heavy.
Build quality, great clear and bright picture without chromatic aberrations at all; great focus in any light contitions; super lens
Heavy; very heavy
I have previously had 35mm and 50mm from the Art lineup. The 24-35mm f/2 Art is not as sharp as the 35mm, but very close to it. The 50mm Art is in a league of its own. Packing 24mm, 28mm and 35mm into a single lens, without compromising much quality, is really something.
Although pricey and a little heavy, the Sigma 24-35mm pushes zoom lenses to new heights with its robust build, image quality and versatility.
Three years ago, Sigma released three new product lines (Contemporary, Art and Sport) with the intention of streamlining its lens range while simultaneously bringing its products up to date.
No, the product name for this lens is not missing a ".8" after the "f/2". This groundbreaking lens is the first full frame-compatible zoom with an aperture wider than f/2.8 – an entire stop wider. Hopefully you are feeling that "WOW" factor.
The Sigma 24-35mm F2 DG HSM Art ($999) is the first full-frame zoom lens with a fixed f/2 aperture throughout its range. That means it captures a lot of light-twice as much when shot wide open compared with an f/2.8 zoom-and can shoot images with a very shallow depth of field.
Very sharp; Maximum f/2 aperture throughout zoom range; 11-inch close focus; Full-frame coverage; Solid build quality
On the heavy side; Distortion throughout range; Fall off at wide apertures; Very small zoom ratio; Omits stabilization
