Pros:
- Very inexpensive
- Excellent sharpness
- even at f/1.4
- Even better sharpness when stopped down a little
- Low CA and distortion
- Good build
Cons:
- Contrast suffers when shooting into the light

Samyang's 35mm f/1.4 AS USM features a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture that's two-thirds of a stop faster than an f/1.8. This wider opening lets more light in, and is ideal for using faster shutter speeds in low-light situations or producing slightly more blur behind subjects.

This Korean-made lens is manual-focus only, but has electronic AI-P contacts to couple to every digital and autofocus Nikon for full Matrix metering, EXIF data and exposure controls.
