who says we can not use this lens on events, I used it several times and don't have problem with it when subject is stationary. the sharpness and bokeh it gives is outstanding.

Samyang continues to surprise us regarding the quality of their recently released products. The full format Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC is capable of delivering a very high quality straight from f/1.4 - at least within the tested APS-C scope. The contrast level is a bit reduced at max.
At around a third of the price of the Canon and Nikon alternatives, the Samyang 35mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC is an affordable and most importantly excellent quality alternative to the OEM offerings, that's if you can live with the lack of auto-focusing and on the Canon version the transfer of metering...
It's a crowded field in the fast 35mm lens market, and Samyang's approach to make an economical manual focus lens was a wise one: if you don't need autofocus, but want the razor-thin depth-of-field of a fast lens, the lens was already in your crosshairs.

If you do video and need a 35mm lens, get this and look no further. I wasted a lot of time, I had the 35mm version of the Nikkor and Canon and both sucked for video, specialy the Canon one. It had the shortest focusing ring ever.
