I have recently bought three of these SSDs from PBTech. I use two as Carbon Copy Cloner bootable backup drives for an iMac and a MacBook Pro and one as data storage for Lightroom Classic. They are all working perfectly.

The Samsung T7 Touch is an exquisite piece of technology; no it won’t prevent hacker groups backed by nation states from hacking your storage device but it will allow you to make it safer while significantly accelerating data transfer, all for a price tag that’s very palatable for a top-shelf...
Very fast, Great construction, Surprisingly affordable, Platform agnostic
Cables could be longer, IP68 would be a nice touch, No bundled Samsung Cloud
The Samsung T7 Touch ticks a lot of boxes and is a very desirable product if you have even the tiniest desire for some extra storage. Firstly the drive comes in a few capacities to fit both your budget and your needs.
Having fast access to your data is one thing, but keeping it secure at the same time is another challenge altogether. Add in the requirement of the device being small and sleek and easy to use and the equation just continues to get more complex.
Incredibly fast, Simple, solid security, Beautiful design, Intuitive, easy to use software, Nothing’s quite as simple as a fingerprint
Wasteful packaging
Samsung has been at the forefront of the solid-state storage market for a number of years now. We’re not just talking about its mainstream internal SSDs either, which have been popular amongst enthusiasts.
Strong Performance, Attractive Chassis, Integrated Fingerprint Sensor, Windows, Mac And Android Compatible
Price Premium, Very Short Included Cables

The Samsung Portable SSD T7 drive comes formatted with the exFAT file system and the overall capacity shows up as 466GB in Windows. Samsung went with exFAT for compatibility with Windows and macOS systems when you use the drive for the first time, but you can reformat if you’d like to change it.
In my day-to-day usage, I found the T7 to be as reliable as the outgoing model. It is defintiely faster and the added fingerprint security just makes it more secure. Of course, if you are not bothered so much about the security aspect, one can always go for the non-Touch version.
I'm not sure the fingerprint sensor adds a ton of value to the Portable SSD T7 Touch from Samsung, but its compact size, the reliability of the brand, and the super fast transfer speeds make it a worthwhile choice for those in need of an external SSD.
