I ordered these to replace my aging (but still useful) Sony MDR-1RBT headphones. Here are my thoughts: The good: Very comfortable - they feel much lighter than the Sonys and I feel as though I could wear them all day.
The second-generation Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 headphones show a device maturing – fixing a few mistakes made in the past while continuing to offer sound quality that holds up well to the competition.
Incredible 24-hour battery life; Multi-point Bluetooth; Amiable sound
Bass overwhelming at times; Styling not for everyone
The Plantronics BackBeat PRO 2 are one of a growing sea of over-ear wireless headphones with active noise cancellation (ANC), gunning for the same space as the . Costing a piddly £160 and offering on-paper equivalent specs to the QuietComforts, the Plantronics are great value and there's plenty to...
Great value for money; Sound on a par with more expensive sets; Solid battery life
ANC can be hit-and-miss; Don't handle bass as well as competitors
24 hours of battery life, good controls and lots of bass will sound great to many, but if you're a fan of classical music, look elsewhere
very long battery life; comfortable; good noise cancelling; good bass; good controls; good value
sound profile won't suit everyone; don't fold up particularly well for travel; passive noise isolation could be better
There's talent here, but the overall performance is let down by poor bass The Plantronics Backbeat Pro 2s are cheaper than their perceived rivals, and have the benefit of extra features that many will appreciate.
Fairly smooth sound; Enjoyably large soundstage; Good battery life; Feature-packed
Only moderately effective noise cancellation; Soft; slow and overblown low frequencies
If you're looking for a set of wireless headphones that have ANC, a ton of bass, a clever design and cost less than £200, get the Plantronics Backbeat Pro 2 – there simply isn't aren't any better over-the-ear ANC headphones at this price.
Beautiful design; Mind blowing bass; Good ANC capabilities
A little uncomfortable; Might be too bass-heavy for some
"Looking for something that is slightly more affordable than the QuietComfort 35 I came across these costing almost £100 less. Build quality is excellent there is a good range of adjustability making them suitable for all sizes of head.
Good ANC; Good build quality
Good headphones. Very expensive. ANC could be better but it's reasonable. When answering a call from them, it's really hard to understand anyone if they're outside
I tested wearing the BackBeat PRO 2 daily while I walked to work and so far I'm loving it. The audio quality is pretty good, it's comfortable to wear, and the noise cancelling helps in shutting down noises so I can be fully immersed in my music or podcasts.
