A great telephoto lens in a compact light weight hand holdable package. You get the equlivent of 300mm f2.8 lens crop factor when used with a Pentax APC sensor camera. Great for wildlife and sports photograpy. The lens tack sharp and renders beautiful color and great bokeh.
Someone could complaint about the speed autofocus of pentax lenses. Maybe, they would change their minds when shooting with holy DA* 200mm. It would be perfect adding the colar-ring.

Although marked as a DA* cropped sensor lens, this lens covers full-frame very sharply, even in the corners, without evident vignetting. I tested this lens at f/8, which I would expect to use outdoors, the primary use for a long-tele lens in any event, so I have no data about its sharpness near...
I've had this lens for 2 yers now and it's always a joy to use. It's based on an old film design and the AF isn't as quick as you'd like sometimes, but the image quality is right up there with an y 200mm lens made.
