Cons:
  • Excessive noise if you lift shadow details for Raw stills, Requires pricey CFexpress cards for highest-quality video, DFD Contrast autofocus not ideal for action photography

The GH6 is a flexible and dependable video camera that offers all its modes in a wide selection of codecs and bit-rates. The sensor that delivers excellent video falls behind its best stills rivals, making it a less successful hybrid camera than its predecessors, and AF still presents challenges in video. Overall a dependable video production tool that's a pleasure to work with.

The Panasonic Lumix GH6 Lets You Film on the Fly

In-body stabilization and thoughtfully designed controls make this workhorse a great choice for in-the-field photographers and filmmakers.
Pros:
  • S-tier image stabilization. Satisfyingly tactile controls. Apple ProRes video recording. Handy focus/balance features. Charges via USB-C (and operates with 9V USB-C).
Cons:
  • Contrast-detect autofocus is good but not ideal. Middling battery life. Recording to SSD is not available yet.
