OnePlus 8T is a terrific addition to the cluttered upper mid-range market, taking on Google and Samsung at every turn. While it may not be a OnePlus 8T Pro, the 8T still offers stunning performance and strong value for money.
OnePlus 8T is a terrific addition to the cluttered upper mid-range market, taking on Google and Samsung at every turn. While it may not be a OnePlus 8T Pro, the 8T still offers stunning performance and strong value for money.
The OnePlus 8T offers small improvements compared to its already very good predecessor. For example, it offers a display with a 120-Hz refresh rate, a macro camera with a higher resolution and an additional lens that provides more data for photos.
precise display with good colors ..; ... and a 120-Hz refresh rate, many LTE bands and 5G, high-quality exterior, no throttling, very fast charging, good battery life, precise localization, good price-performance ratio
warms up under load; no Wireless Charging; no IP certification; camera lacks sharpness of detail; case could be more stable
This is the official OnePlus 8T review as conducted by SlashGear. The OnePlus 8T may not agree with you if you’ve become accustomed to living the “Pro” smartphone life. Over the past few years, smartphones with “premium” features have clobbered our pocketbooks and looked to capitalize on the latest...
Bright; sharp; colorful display (flat; too!); Display 120Hz image refresh rate; Fast wired charging (with included charger); Simple software with great potential for advance users; Cameras capture great photos in most conditions
Punch hole seems like less of a problem with a flat display; No 3.5mm headphone jack; 5G limited to N41; N78; N79 (no mmWave)
OnePlus has a history of updating its cameras and ultimately delivering solid results. The company has already issued one that improved things, so I’ll be keeping tabs on any enhancements going forward.
Beautiful 120Hz display; Strong performance; Reliable software updates; Excellent battery life for a 5G phone; Unbelievable charging speeds
Lacks wireless charging; Average cameras
“The OnePlus 8T is a great smartphone -- great software, speedy, and a decent camera. Except at $749, the competition around it is too strong for it to be a hearty recommendation.”
Superfast charging; One day's use after 15 minutes charge; Clean; fast; and up-to-date software; Attractive photos from the camera
No wireless charging; No IP water-resistance rating
The OnePlus 8T is a solid Android phone with a terrific software experience and the fastest charging we've seen.
Excellent software; Strong network performance; Super-fast charging
Cameras are just average; No wireless charging; A little too expensive for what you get
OnePlus 8T Software And User Experience Based on early beta reports, we were a little trepidatious about OxygenOS 11. See, OnePlus was rumored to be making significant changes away from stock Android. We’re glad to report that all is well in OxygenOS land.
Beautiful 120Hz display; Fantastic performance; Decent battery life; Fast 65W charging; Delightful user experience; Almost stock Android
Too expensive; No telephoto camera; No wireless charging; No headphone jack
OnePlus is the definition of "disruptor" in the smartphone space — or it used to be. Early devices like the OnePlus One and OnePlus 3 blew minds without burning wallets. Over the years, that value proposition has dwindled as competitors rise to the occasion, bringing us to 2020.
Screen Exquisitely smooth and even. I'm really, really picky about displays, and this is perfect; Battery life Good-to-great, though it varies a little more than I expected; Performance The 8T is the usual OnePlus speed demon, even without the "plus" version of the chipset.
No official IP rating The T-Mobile version is IP rated, but the unlocked version doesn't claim to be; Odds are it's the same, but without certification we can't say, even though cheaper phones like the S20 FE have an explicit IP rating.
OnePlus’ latest phone is basically the OnePlus 8 Pro’s top-notch screen refresh rate and battery stuffed into a smaller body. Then there’s the awesome 39-minute fast charging tech, to sweeten the deal. The OnePlus 8T is only marred by subpar cameras and a less unique design.
Solid performance; Beautiful 120Hz display; 39-minute fast charging; Great specs for the price
Middling camera performance; No wireless charging
The OnePlus 8T is a solid mid-range 5G smartphone with two standout features: a superbly sharp and vibrant 6.55-inch AMOLED screen with a fast 120Hz refresh rate; and 65W fast charging that can fully charge the 4,500mAh battery in just under 40 minutes.
120Hz AMOLED screen; 65W fast charging; 5G and dual SIMs; Very good performance; Android 11
No IP rating for dust/water resistance; No wireless charging; No telephoto camera; No 3.5mm headset jack or MicroSD card slot
