Besides the cons above, it is still a good light camera that can be used for both still images and HD videos. adding a lens COST a LOT !
- light weight - takes good quality images - takes good HD videos - it has lots of features and interchangeable lens; - nicely built and good looking - good battery life I took lots of still images and took several HD videos and the still images are VERY NICE and VERY CLEAR.
- auto-focus is not that good - need additional lens like 150mm (for zooming) - it doesn't have a grip on the front side like other cameras
This is my first Olympus lens, moving from Nikon to M4/3 format. I have many Nikon lenses and have been shooting Nikon for years, I was not expecting much from this little lens at first. But I was very pleased with the results from this lens. It focuses fast, very sharp.
I bought an Olympus OM D 5 on eBay at a very good price, but I needed to extend the cameras versatility, so I invested in the 40-150mm Zoom lens. Both the standard and above lens will satisfy most of my photographic work over the coming years.
The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f4.0-5.6 R ($199.99 direct) is one of the less expensive lenses you can attach to your Micro Four Thirds camera. It's designed to complement the entry-level M.Zuiko 14-42mm zoom that ships with Olympus PEN bodies like the E-PL5 .

Inexpensive; Good telephoto zoom range; Sharp through most of its zoom range
Plastic lens mount; Performance suffers at the edges of the frame; Not optically stabilized; Modest aperture
I purchased this particular lens for the zoom range producing a fast sharp focussed image. It does what it says on the 'tin', lightweigh, compact and easy to carry around. A lens which does what it sets out to do. I would also recommend this lens for portrait use.
Easily Interchangeable; Lightweight; Quick Focus; Sharp Focus
I find this lens great to get those shots where a little more zoom goes a long way.

Cameta listed as mfr refurbished......Arrived in Original Olympus lens box with both caps and was indistinguishable from new. Works as intended. Put on a micro 4/3 Pen camera, and I'm liking the light weight and fine pix vs DSLR bag bulk. Left Olympus for Canon in summer 1975 and now I'm back.
small and handy but I am not used to the extreme cheap-construction Level without lens hood and every few month I got dust between the lenses Optics are good - the first half year, with a bit to much CA. With weekly practice it's getting worse. The price is to high, it's just a cheap-starter Zoom.
to expensive for the quality; CA; no metall; cheap plastics
