My Standard Everyday Lense

Back in the day, when film was still in, people were talking about 35mm photography. Well, this is the closest lens to that old standard. I received this lense as an Xmas gift a year ago. Since then, this lens has become the standard lens on our GX7 Panasonic camera.

Perfect for my video work

"I'm shooting more hand held video interviews these days and this lens on the OM-D EM5 MII is perfect for my needs. It lets me get close enough to the subject for good audio pick up by the on-camera Rode shotgun mic.

Not the sharpest lens in M.Zuiko Premium line, but definitely decent enough even wide open. Perfect everyday prime. It's no way cheap lens, but still cheaper than closest equivalents in other systems: Canon 35/2 IS, Nikon 35/1,8 FX, Fuji 23/1,4, Tamron 35/1,8, Sony 35/2,8,...

Very good build quality; Very fast and silent AF; Very good MF; Size and weight perfectly fits on OM-D; Full metal

No lenshood and no pouch in package

Excellent Olympus Lens

For users of Micro 4/3rds system cameras, a medium wide angle prime lens is a must, especially for carrying around taking street style shots. This 17mm lens (34mm full frame equiv) is increbially sharp with excellent contrast and very quick to focus on my E-M1 and E-M10 cameras.

Olympus M. Zuiko 17mm F/1.8

Just bought this lens last week and I've taken a few candid shots of my son mostly in manual with my E-M10 Mark II. I was able to take clear, crisp shots while he played outside in the yard.

It is just not as sharp as the Panasonic 15mm. Angle of view is not the issue between these two; perspective is. How multiple planes of space get layered. For layering space, this lens has an advantage. But that does not offset the softness in my opinion.

With the release of the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 17mm f1.8 lens (34mm in 35mm equivalent), Olympus adds a bright, wide-angle, single-focal-length lens ideal for snapshot street shooting, landscape photography or capturing subjects in challenging low-light environments.

Compact, all-around wide angle prime lens

I wanted a small wide angle prime lens for my Lumix G9. The auto focus is fast, and the manual focus is easy to use (especially with its MF Clutch). This lens is a great wide angle for landscape shots. Its maximum f1.8 aperture is fast, and also achieves a pleasing bokeh effect for close-ups.
