This 10-24mm lens, offers an expansive focal range, giving a 15-36mm equivalent (after Nikon's 1.5x crop factor). You'll get a variable aperture range of f/3.5-4.5 and the Nikon 10-24mm also offers Nikon's Silent Wave Motor (SWM) which supplies quick, responsive and silent focus with the motor also...
The Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 10-24mm f3.5-4.5G ED is a well-performing and thoroughly enjoyable ultrawide-to-wide zoom lens. It's remarkably sharp in the image centre throughout the entire focal range, with edge sharpness also being commendably high at most settings, except wide open at the 10mm end.
Bought this lens for landscape, architecture and natural history habitat pictues. I use this lens on my Nikon D90 and love its ease of use. For people who are fed up not getting everything they want in the photo, this is the lens to use. Just be careful or you'll find your toes in the picture!

Spectacular lense. Great for landscapes and dramatic portrait type images. I won't leave home without this guy. Distortion is somewhat of an issue, but that is to be expected at this range and fixable with photoshop. Highly recommend this to anyone and everyone.
Nikon's venerable 12-24mm ultrawide zoom has the benefit of a reasonably fast f/4 aperture that remains constant throughout the zoom range.
The autofocus on my lens failed after only 4 months. To make it even worse it was during a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Yap Island. Nikon IS repairing it under warranty.
Easy To Use; Improves Picture Quality
I bought this lens for my Nikon D300s and used it on a trip to Grand Canyon (north and south rim). The pictures are sharp.
Took this lens with me to New York City. This is the ONLY lens that will bring in the buildings! Great focus and super night shots! Would not leave home without it! FAST and SILENT.
