this lens changed the quality of the images we were putting out there. the depth of field you can accomplish with such a wide focal length is amazing. shoot this in 2.8 or lower, get close to your subject, and you're going to love it.

sharp; depth of field; awesome quality

can be slow focusing..

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.4G Lens Review

Handling and features Performance Verdict Specification This wide angle lens from Nikon costs around £1300 and sports a bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, silent internal focusing and nano-crystal coatings to help control ghosting and flare.

Very sharp in the centre of the frame; Silent focusing; Low distortion; Very low CA; Highly resistant to flare; Durable weather-sealed magnesium construction

Falloff of illumination towards the corners at wide apertures; Sharpness towards the edges of the frame falls behind the performance in the centre of the frame

Nikon 35mm f/1.4G AF-S Nikkor

Best Uses : Street, Event, Low light I have read people complain in forums that this lens is inferior to the 24mm AF/S. The perspective between the 24 & 35 are vastly different. It's not a matter of which is sharper, more important is which perspective is needed/preferred.

Nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.4G Review

Some lenses epitomise the lens-maker's craft because they are able to combine truly special sets of features. Many of these lenses have very long or short focal lengths but in the mid-range it is the ultra-fast lenses that tend to capture the imagination.

Nikon 35mm f/1.4G AF-S Nikkor review by Prime Minister

The image quality of this lens is great. Sharpness, contrast are very good straight from the maximim aperture. Bokeh is good too. Unfortunately there is rather a high amount of CA. The auto focus speed is fast enough, but not as fast as the 24-70mm f/2.8G.

Nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.4G Lens Review

Hopped on a plane to Brisbane and used this lens all Christmas with my D7000. That's what I found best about the lens, portability, suitable to most shots, and great professional quality.

If I had to pick one lens to stick with forever, I'd choose this one.

I'm thrilled with this lens. This lens is a workhorse. It's on my camera 90% of the time. I'm a portrait and wedding photographer and this lens is a must-have. The autofocus is fast, the colors are rich, and the bokeh is gorgeous from f1.4-f2.2. It's pricey but it's worth it.

I LOVE this lens!

I bought this lens to complement the Nikon 85mm 1.4G on a D700. I wanted a wide-angle lens that wouldn't suck out the corners like 24mm and wider lenses do. I use it mostly to make photographs of my friends and family.

Fast / accurate auto-focus; Nice Bokeh; Strong Construction
