The best 35mm lens out to date
This lens has the latest bells and whistles from Nikon's engineering department. I used it in very low light and found it to autofocus very accurately. The wider aspect versus the 50mm focal length allows for a more general use.
Pros:
- Accurate AF
- Flare resistant
- Solid build
Cons:
- Too expensive

My new favorite lens
Tact sharp and has excellent micro contrast. Definitely has better focus compared to 50mm f1.4G and 85mm f1.4G. Ive noticed CA in the highlights and minimal barrel distortion but not a big deal since it be corrected easy post.
Pros:
- Durable
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Lightweight
- Nice Bokeh

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.4G
Optically, the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.4G is a stunningly good lens. Sharpness is remarkably high at f/1.4, and simply excellent from f/2 onwards. Lateral chromatic aberrations are kept to a minimum, and the fast lens' ability to separate the subject from the background is outstanding for a...

I LOVE this lens!
I bought this lens to complement the Nikon 85mm 1.4G on a D700. I wanted a wide-angle lens that wouldn't suck out the corners like 24mm and wider lenses do. I use it mostly to make photographs of my friends and family.
Pros:
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Nice Bokeh
- Strong Construction

If I had to pick one lens to stick with forever, I'd choose this one.
I'm thrilled with this lens. This lens is a workhorse. It's on my camera 90% of the time. I'm a portrait and wedding photographer and this lens is a must-have. The autofocus is fast, the colors are rich, and the bokeh is gorgeous from f1.4-f2.2. It's pricey but it's worth it.

Nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.4G Review
Some lenses epitomise the lens-maker's craft because they are able to combine truly special sets of features. Many of these lenses have very long or short focal lengths but in the mid-range it is the ultra-fast lenses that tend to capture the imagination.
Pros:
- Design build and performance
Cons:
- The high price

Outstanding lens
I hesitated over buying this or the Nikon 24mm f/1.4, but in the end went for the 35mm as I thought I'd get more use out of it. The 35mm is a great compromise between the 50mm, which I typically find to narrow, and the 24mm, which can often be too wide.

Bright and Optically Superb
This lens is perfect for interior low light situations. Below is a photo taken by candle light with a Nikon D4 camera body. The shutter speed is 1/125 of a second, the aperture is f/1.4, the ISO is 2200, with Auto White Balance and Matrix Metering.
