Only had a month, have not explored all the features. So far nice sharp images even in poor light. Good Value. Lighter weight than I expected and a little smaller than my previous Sony Alpha DSLR. Closeup auto focusing is a little funky.

Phoned up to buy a new flash gun and ended up with D5600 as well. Have had a D3100 for many years and decided that it was time for an upgrade. Great advice on the phone and very pleased with my new camera
Good Battery Life; Good Sized Screen; Great Resolution; Nice Features and Settings
I hadn't bought a new DSLR since my D70s in 2004, so it took me awhile to decide which camera I wanted to buy. For several months I debated between the D7500 and this D5600. I wasn't sure about whether I'd like how menu driven the D5600 seemed to be compared to the D7500.
On balance, I like the Nikon D5600, especially for its target audience. It meets my expectations for what a modern entry-level DSLR should do, and it is hard to deny that the D5600's image quality is anything short of excellent.
Smartphone cameras are amazing, for what they are. So are many of the compact digital cameras, especially the super-zooms from Canon and Nikon. But I grew up when film was "it", and I missed the versatility and expandability of single-lens reflexes.
This is quite the useful little camera. Not so big and bulky to carry around, and still get quality pictures. Love the LCD screen, it comes in very useful for many angles when one does not bend so well anymore. Love the Nikon D5600!
Sharper then my nikon 7000 only the camera is build with more plastic parts.
I'm a pro, and this is my backup camera. I grab it when I travel so that I don't have to carry the weight of my D810. 24MP is a sweet spot in photography in my opinion... it will allow you to do almost anything with an image, including printing up to 20x30 with ease.
Using the diminutive Nikon D5600 is a world away from shooting with a bulky enthusiast SLR like the D7200 or D500. It's light and unobtrusive, but its image quality is terrific, and the vari-angle screen makes it supremely versatile.
Small size; Good Live View performance; Great image quality
SnapBridge system still needs work; Limited external controls; Pricey at launch
Purchased camera & accessories for Christmas. Opened on Christmas and memory card didnt work. Chat was a HSN rep and they suggested contact Nikon. Called Nikon and the rep said the memory card wasnt the correct memory card for that type of camera.
