Arlo Pro 2 review: Solid security for a price

The Arlo Pro 2 is an expensive piece of kit, but it's hard to think of any missteps it makes along the way. The footage it captures is excellent, the motion and audio detection works well and it's pleasingly flexible.

Battery powered; Sharp; 1080p footage; Seven days free clip storage

Expensive

Big Brother with Arlo

The wireless cameras linked quickly and were very easy to install due to the magnetic way they connect to their mounts. 7 Day recording via Arlo cloud is free for up to 5 cameras and helps keep track of the recordings made. Very pleased overall with the performance, battery life and ease of use.

I cannot fault this product. Being wireless it is easy for us to move the camera whenever wherever, and the video quality is superb. Now I can monitor our house remotely :)

Arlo Pro 2 Review

The Arlo Pro 2 may carry a high cost of entry for anyone looking for their first smart home camera, but it pays off. It is the most full-featured home security system we have yet tested.

Advanced scheduling and geofencing controls; 7 days of free cloud storage; Optional local backup via USB; Backward compatible with Arlo Pro; Scalable multi-camera plans for businesses

App interface a little convoluted

Arlo Pro2 Camera and Base Station

I recently told you about two accessories the Arlo Doorbell and Arlo Chime that work via an ArloBaseStation and that comes with the HD wireless camera that is what I looking at in this review as well as the all-important BaseStation

Arlo Pro 2

The 4K Arlo Ultra may be grabbing the headlines for its best-in-class image quality, but the wireless indoor/outdoor Arlo Pro 2 offers many of the same benefits for less money thanks to its 1080p resolution.

Easy to set up and install; Excellent control over recording; Cameras work with new Ultra Base Station

No activity zones unless powered
