Logitech G19

A marginally useful LCD and mushy tactile feedback make the G19 a tough sell at $200. Gamers form highly personal attachments to their keyboards and mice , because finding the perfect peripheral can favorably impact the ratio between triumphant victories and humiliating defeats.

Programmable G-keys; customizable backlighting; integrated media-player controls; two powered USB ports

LCD isn't all that useful; mushy keyboard action; expensive

Logitech G19

Fantastic gaming keyboard but unnecessarily expensive if you don't get the full

Logitech G19s Gaming Keyboard

Makers PC gaming peripherals are in the unenviable position of having to meet gamer's simultaneous demands for top-of-the-line products and innovative products that offer new and better ways to interact with technology. Finding the balancing point between these two concerns is a tricky business.

Built-in display for data, communication, and video; Customizable backlight; 12 programmable macro buttons; Integrated media and volume control; Multiple switchable profiles

Pricey; Membrane switches feel mushy and stiff; Plastic construction feels flimsy; Requires AC power

Logitech G19 Gaming Keyboard Review

The G19 is a costly keyboard that relies on software installed on your system for most of its magic. With the drivers installed, and on operating systems for which the driver is not available its special features don't function at all.

Inbuilt LCD display; Macro keys can be programmed on the fly; Changable back-light colors; Windows-ley disable lock; Good software configuration interface; Support for Windows SlideShow

No support for Linux; Severely limited functionality without drivers; Limited support in Games; display is underutilized

Review: Logitech G19 Keyboard

Whether you spend your days hunched over a desk pounding out verbiage or prancing through Khaz Modan in search of Monkey Gauntlets , the tool you wield can make all the difference. Sadly, the science of keyboard design seems to have fallen by the wayside in recent years.

More customizable than a box of Legos; Two self-powered USB ports; Dedicated D-pad and menu keys let you control LCD directly from the keyboard; Convenient cable management lanes carved into bottom of unit lessens clutter slightly; Choose-your-own-color adventure with adjustable backlighting.

Limited desktop space? This is NOT your keyboard; Price tag to match gargantuan footprint; Requires power brick to run; After it's novelty wears off, built-in LCD becomes more of a distraction than a useful tool

Waste of money...

I thought Logitech used better quality materials on their products... Apparently I was wrong in assuming that. They just threw in a few "pretty" features to bump the price up.

Looks cool I guess

$200 for a keyboard that doesn't even have mechanical keyswitches is just ridiculous..

Logitech G19 gaming keyboard

Why would any normal person want to splash out close to £120 on a keyboard? Well, Logitech's successor to the popular G15 isn't aimed at the conventional, everyday computer user – the G19 sits pretty close to the ‘ultimate' end of the hardcore gaming peripherals scale.

Kind of neat, but way too expensive.

Logitech G19 Review

The only thing that the G19 has that nobody else does is the LCD screen then and, while being able to scan RSS feeds and have image slideshows on your keyboard is kind of cool, it's not something that anyone actually needs – nor something that we'd pay over £100 for.

DO NOT BUY

I bought this and the Logitech speakers on Newegg Flash, both refurbs and both have now have issues. It cost me over $30 to ship keyboard to California. What money I may have saved is evaporating with shipping. I am a longtime Newegg customer and this is the worst experience ever

If it worked great keyboard but..

WASD keys were mush, did not return after keypress; Totally useless and speaks a lot about Logitech's QC control on their refurbished products
