Logitech G19s Gaming Keyboard Review

Everyone needs a keyboard. From a cheap $10 Walmart special to get the job done to units costing hundreds of dollars, they're everywhere and very essential. What should you spend on a keyboard? Well that's entirely up to you. What do you want in a keyboard? Do you need something unique? Do you game?

I have been a fan boy of the Logitech G-Series keyboards for many years. My G15 is still very much functioning with no issues. i just figured it was time for a change. Went out and purchased the G700s Mouse and the G19s Keyboard and love the mouse(albiet Battery life is a bit short) but this is a...

Smaller form factor then prior G series keyboards; Customizable Backlighting is Nice; Powered USB Slots that are together versus on either side of the prior units screen

The video display has been unimpressive with lack of functionality so far; the extra row of G keys (programable) seems to have shifted the the keys

[[Introduction & Features]] Logitech sent us two gaming keyboards a few weeks ago; one of them was the G710+ and the other is the one we will look at here – the G19s. The latter is Logitech's highest-end model and costs a whopping RM699.

Logitech G19s

The G19s is in a weird spot right now when you consider its price paired up with the fact that it isn't a mechanical keyboard. At this price point you will normally find higher end mechanical keyboards do to their increased construction costs (those cherry switches aren't cheap).

Good keyboard

Upgraded from Logitech G15 I had my G15 for 10 years so to me spending this amount of money wasn't an issue considering how long my G15 lasted to me. And the only issue that made me upgrade is because my cat chewed up my wires. I really love the look of this keyboard.

Epic Fail

I wouldn't waste money on a re-hashed product that had ZERO support for the first model. This should tell you something... ... I have not had ONE update to the software, in the 2 years I've owned it. BECAUSE THEY DON'T SUPPORT THEIR OWN PRODUCTS !!!

Logitech G19s Gaming Keyboard

In the end the Logitech G19s was quite the spin on keyboards. It's not quite what Razer has with its touchpad screen, but it is quite fancy when it comes to just being a discrete screen.

It is gimmicky! The screen is neat and has lots of apps and the ability to make your own; Full RGB backlighting – get your dream color across the board; Nice discrete media keys and full number pad; 12 discrete macro keys and multiple profiles for all your games; Not mechanical; Powered USB ports

PRICE! $$$$; Not mechanical; Needs a power adapter to operate the LCD screen – find an open one; USB ports are 2.0 – new enough to have 3.0

Awesome Keyboard

This keyboard is fantastic for many reasons, hardcore gamers will love it's G keys and LCD HUD, while the social gamer, like me, will enjoy pretty colours and being able to see what they're typing in the dark. Is it worth the $260 pricetag (as of December, 2013)?

lcd screen; lots of pretty colours; great look and feel

some colours hurt the eyes; lack of instructions; external power supply needed

DO NOT BUY

I bought this and the Logitech speakers on Newegg Flash, both refurbs and both have now have issues. It cost me over $30 to ship keyboard to California. What money I may have saved is evaporating with shipping. I am a longtime Newegg customer and this is the worst experience ever

If it worked great keyboard but..

WASD keys were mush, did not return after keypress; Totally useless and speaks a lot about Logitech's QC control on their refurbished products
