1TB Ethernet BD
I have been using this drive for about 2 months. i am mostly happy with the drive. the web page works well, and is a nice feture so that others on my network can access the drive. download speeds are decent i think the biggest limitation on that would be your connection speed to your router.
Pros:
- Durable
- Fast Connectivity
- Reliable
Cons:
- Difficult Setup
- Noisy
- Very Big Very Heavy

Great little drive
Rugged reliable. This is exactly what the doctor ordered for those of us who travel. It is protected from shocks. great size and speed. Took a very short period of time to back up my hard drive from my Air and was extremely robust. Good price point as well. Overall very satisfied!

Great for backing up just not very portable

- Expensive
- if this drops then all your data will be lost

Actual Drive Is Low Quality
I purchased this drive in March of 2015 for my girlfriend, and it sat on her desk as served as storage for her videos and recorded music (she is a working musician). The drive worked without issue for several months, until this month (August 2015), when the drive refused to spin up.
Pros:
- Drive enclosure is metal, with a plastic caddy and a pretty good SATA->USB interface
- Speeds were reasonable
- Rubber bumper is well made and seems like it would serve it's purpose
Cons:
- I am giving this drive one star due to LaCie's choice of drive vendor, Seagate, in this case

I have two of these for my photos in conjunction with Lightroom, one for backup to keep in second location. I love it's durability and portabilty.

No matter how many times Ive tried these...
an unacceptable percentage of the minis simply stop working. One day, you plug in the device, and it just starts clicking. The information cannot be retrieved....poof. In one case, I put the information on two minis, because I always back things up in 2 or 3 spots...and both minis died.

With people starting to amass more and more data on their PCs, the old methods of backup such as tape or CD & DVD are becoming woefully inadequate. As a result, by far the most cost efficient method for either storing data or backing it up is the external hard drive .
Pros:
- Capacity
- looks
- decent manual
- cheap
Cons:
- A bit slow
- a lot to lose in one go

so far this machine works great This is the third one I purchased
I was told that LaCie made "generic" hard drives. Meaning that you don't know about the make of the actual hardware inside the frame containing the external hard drive. But I must say that, so far this machine works great This is the third one I purchased.
