Gran Turismo Sport provides a limited off-line experience but some excellent online opportunities!
After encountering some enduring post-launch issues in Gran Turismo Sport that, over the time since launch, have not gotten resolved, we have been forced to revisit our review. As a result, we've made some adjustments to the review content, as well as the score.
Graphics are amazingly beautiful to the smallest details; Races are fun; dynamic; and can be ran countless ways; Car livery is fully; in the most literal sense; customizable; Online play is reliable; quick paced; and easy to jump into; Sounds great; from the ambience and sound effects to the...
Poor connectivity and a litany of server issues from launch; Need for constant connectivity to internet
Gran Turismo Sport is a bona fide virtual motorsport and that's awesome. But single-player modes are lacking and it's demonstrably outshone by Forza Motorsport 7 in virtually every area.
Ultra-solid driving with incredible depth of handling nuance; The cars look beautiful; especially glass effects; Online mode feels carefully curated and important
Completely clams up if the internet connection goes down; Weak crashes and familiar; last-gen feeling; Single-player is reminiscent of PSP Gran Turismo
Buy Gran Turismo Sport If you only owned a PS3 and accepted nothing but Gran Turismo as your racing game of choice, you had to exhibit lots of patience. A proper entry in the series didn't arrive until Gran Turismo 5 in 2010, four years after the system's release.
Many aspects of this new-generation Gran Turismo are fantastic. It looks absolutely stunning, sounds great, drives superbly, and delivers an excellent online racing experience. However, GT Sport is a little lacking when it comes to its content.
In its need to please as large demographic as possible, GT Sport is unmistakably deep but oddly sparse compared to its illustrious predecessors. The game feels more like a prologue to the inevitable Gran Turismo 7 , hopefully including everything that was left out here.
Let's not forget what's been lost for the series' PlayStation 4 debut, though. There's none of that old scope, and only a fraction of the old madness that made Gran Turismo so endearing.
Online play only. Career mode involves doing licences and tracks, on a pre chosen car. Am still to figure out why there is any need for a garage. Or collecting cars. Cant modify cars, did I mention no offline racing. Have to wait for 20 to 30 minutes to get on to one of three races.
In an age where established franchises seem to come front-loaded with as much content as the developers can stuff into them, there's something rather refreshing about Gran Turismo Sport. This baby is streamlined.
I bought the ps4 ....as im 44 seemed along time to wait to buy my first console ...but im so glad i did..graphics and speed are fantastic on this game ...
