The Fujinon XF 16mm f/1.4 R WR may not knock your socks off like the XF 90mm f/2 R LM WR but it is a capable performer nonetheless. The center quality is just fine at f/1.4 whereas the corners show some softness - emphasized by field curvature.

At $999, the XF 16mm f/1.4 is not an easy buy for many photographers, but it offers ample value to those with the funds to make it happen. We were a bit let down by the lack of edge sharpness at wider apertures, but the image quality elsewhere is so good that it easily makes up for it.
Fast; f/1.4 max aperture; Superior build quality; Weather resistant; Very low distortion; Great value
Vignetting; soft edges at wide apertures; Intermittent autofocus errors
There's not much bad to say about the Fujifilm Fujinon XF 16mm F1.4 R WR. It features a bright design, covers a 24mm (equivalent) angle of view, and is protected from dust and splashes.
Bright, wide design; Very sharp; Minimal distortion; Even illumination from f/2 on; Short minimum focus; Aperture ring and manual focus clutch; Dust and splash resistant; Quick, quiet autofocus
Pricey; Bulky
The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 16mm F1.4 R WR ($999) carries a premium price, but backs it up with matching performance. The lens covers a wide (24mm in full-frame terms) field of view, opens up all the way to f/1.4 for low-light shooting and blurred backgrounds, and lets you get up close and personal with subjects. It's sharp too, even at the edges of the frame, and offers a better manual focus experience than most mirrorless system lenses. It's an easy pick as Editors' Choice—if you shoot Fujifilm and want a fast, wide-angle prime, it's worth the investment. Design The XF 16mm ($969.99 at Amazon) is a hefty prime. It measures 2.9 by 2.9 inches (HD), tips the scales at 13.2 ounces, and supports 67mm front filters. The barrel is metal, finished in glossy black, with a bayonet mount at the front to attach the included hood. The hood features a standard petal design, is made of plastic, and is reversible for storage. It's bigger than a pancake option like the XF 18mm, but balances well wit...

Great optics, fast maximum aperture, very close focus, pull/push mechanism for MF/AF, weather resistance; It feels like it's well-made
It's fairly heavy compared to some other Fuji prime lenses; It's quite pricey, but get it when there's a Fujifilm cashback offer and it's better value..
this seems a great lens to me but not had the chance to fully test it out yet.I Tried to check for up dates with it on my Fujifilm XT-2 camera body but i got a yellow coded message saying update cancelled switch off camera..SO i need to sort that out before i do any further tests.
While the pros and cons sides look nearly even on paper, this lens is absolutely stellar in use. It\'s deadly sharp from f/2.8 all the way through till diffraction; the only need to stop down is to extend depth-of-field.
- Sharpness; both wide-open and stopped down - Close focus ability - Rendering quality - Zero distortion; well-controlled vignetting & lateral CAs - Very solid build - AF/MF clutch mechanism
- Noticeable coma & astigmatism wide-open; Noticeable spherochromatism wide-open; Slight focus-by-wire lag
My first "legit" lens... Sharp as you want it to be! Shoot all the way to f16 and this lens will give you an image that is just a pleasure to zoom into. It will obscure your view if you use the OVF on the X-Pro2 but that's not what you're getting it for.
The XF16mmF1.4R WR lens has a fixed focal length of 16mm (24mm in 35mm format equivalent) and offers a dramatic wide field of view and stunning optical performance. The F1.4 maximum aperture delivers high image quality in low-light conditions and bokeh-rich macro photography with a minimum working...
Lovely sharp, even wide open, responsive, well built all metal, weather sealed, fast wide prime with manual focus clutch. I liked the lens so much i purchased the square lens cap. I haven't used it for astro, so i can't comment on the coma...
