Best Donkey Kong Country Game!
Tropical Freeze on Wii U, is probably my favorite DK game. The game is very challenging, and keeps the player hooked! The graphics are stunning, lush, and charming. The music, is composed by the same guy who did the soundtrack for original Donkey Kong Country games.
Game Review: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is the latest Wii U port to hit the Nintendo Switch and if you missed its initial release in 2014 and are planning on picking it up, then you're in for a treat…perhaps banana themed treats!- Satisfying
- yet challenging platforming gameplay
- Crisp
- colourful visuals
- Meaningful supporting characters
- Funky Kong Mode is a speed running dream
- Difficulty spike late on my surprise some
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
You might be tempted to overlook Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, but if you did, you'd be missing out on an excellent platforming title with tons of style and polish. While it's true that it doesn't explore a lot of new territory, iteration within a genre is only bad to the extent which...
Donkey Kong's done his damnedest over the years to help you forget he's an ape. Perhaps it's something to do with the Clockwork Orange-style rehabilitation he was presumably forced into after that unfortunate streak of lady-stealing in the '80s, but the leash-like tie he wears isn't the only mark of...
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze review
Hot on the heels of Super Mario 3D World is another blockbuster Nintendo property getting the HD treatment thanks to the Wii U. Does Tropical Freeze measure up to the high standard of prior Donkey Kong Country entries? Toby's not allowing any monkey puns so just read the damn review will ya?- Colourful and charming environment and character designs
- Challenging, varied levels
- An excellent soundtrack
- Every component of this game existed in some form in 1993
- Neither tropical island nor frozen tundra is the true habitat of a gorilla
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (Wii U) Review – DK is Back! Prepare for Some Ape Induced Platform Madness
It hit me last night. As I was playing a bit more Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze before penning my review I realized just how maddening this game can be. I lifted my GamePad up in the air after yet another untimely death and I almost threw it across the room.
The world's most beloved simian family returns in another adventure, this time on the Switch (after first appearing on Wii U in 2014). Nintendo continues Donkey Kong Country's revival with Tropical Freeze, introducing new enemies and reintroducing old favorites.
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Hardcore gamers can rejoice now that Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze has been released on the Wii U. Expect your favorite monkey characters (not rolling around in see through balls) to make appearances. Expect the intense difficulty from start to finish. Expect tough and long boss battles.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze review
Seeing everything there is to see in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a privilege, not a right. While some platformers present their content to you on a silver platter, daintily spoon-feeding each level into your eager mouth, Tropical Freeze tells you to go out into the snow barefoot, run...- Great presentation
- with lush graphics and charming music
- Incredibly challenging
- but never feels unbeatable
- New Kongs encourage different playstyles
- Will simply be too difficult for some tastes
- Co-op play is a disappointment
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
One could argue it's the machine that's started the giant's trend in recycling more and more of their older series instead of diversifying with new game experiences. So, no real surprise that Donkey Kong returns, and although there's been four years since the ape reappeared on Wii, it doesn't feel...
