Activision PlayStation 4 Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled PS4 CTR review

This review is based on a PlayStation 4 download code provided by the publisher. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is available now.

Plenty of stuff to do; Excellent graphics and audio; Retains the "feel" of the classic game; High replay value and unlockables

Can be needlessly challenging in some areas; which may turn newbies off

In the same way that the 1999 original made me grin from ear to ear, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is not just a wonderful re-imagining of a classic, but a legitimately great time.

Crash Nitro Team Racing

Bought The PS4 and the Xbox1 games for two of my Daughters. And we are talking Adults. They both love the game, and are having hours of fun.

Activision PlayStation 4 Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled PS4 CTR review

Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled is an excellent remake of a kart-racing classic, potentially introducing the beloved PS1 mascot to an entire new generation of players. However, this might be a little too difficult for younger gamers, so they might want to jump on easy mode.

A faithful remake for fans of the original; Massive roster of characters and karts to discover; Absolutely gorgeous and filled with content

Colour saturation can be a little much; The challenge won't be for everyone

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Review

The time of the original Sony PlayStation was a very different era of gaming from what the industry is like now in 2019. Even with all the changes, people

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled review – Mario carted off

The best Mario Kart clone of the PlayStation 1 era gets a big budget remake but can it really rival Nintendo at its best

The core gameplay is hugely enjoyable, with a powerslide system that's arguably better than Mario Kart; Tons of content, excellent graphics, and one of the only good story modes in the genre

Crash Team Racing was always very derivative; Track design is never as inspired as Nintendo's best and the gameplay never quite as accessible; 30fps visuals and online player limits are a shame

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Review | A beautiful, fresh coat of paint and tune-up

Crash Bandicoot's time away from the spotlight also meant he spent time away from the stoplight. His post-PS1 descent into obscurity meant that most players weren't as likely to remember that the famed bandicoot was also as strong behind the wheel as he was behind a pair of platforming jorts.

Lush; vibrant visuals and delightfully cartoony animation; Modern controls that still feel like the original; Power slide boosting gives races more depth; Thoughtful mix of old throwbacks and new additions

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled review

Kart racers are my kind of bag, mainly because I'm pretty bad at actual racing sims. When I say bad, I mean I know nothing about cars - or how they function - and I couldn't tell you the difference be

Handling is excellent; Courses are diverse and gorgeous to look at; Plenty of replayability

Reversing is awkward; Difficulty needs tweaking

Awkward controls and boost gimmick may ruin the game for you.

It's standard issue cart racing. weapons, cutesie characters and various tracks set in cartoon environments with hazards and speed boosts. Our problem with this game is HOW you boost and the uncomfortable control layout, and even with a second control layout option, neither works well.
