Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Review

It's rare that we reach for the Extreme Ultra award when dealing with a humble keyboard, but if there's one thing the Corsair Gaming K70 RGB is not, it's humble. The levels of customisation, both for key functionality and lighting, reach beyond anything we've seen before.

Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Keyboard

Corsair's newest top-of-the-line gaming keyboard, dubbed K70 RGB, gets put to the test. The keyboard features fully customizable back lighting and full n-key roll-over over USB. You also get a huge driver suite and a choice between three of the most popular mechanical Cherry MX switches.

Corsair Gaming K70 RGB

Both mechanical-switch keyboards and multi-colour backlit keyboards have been around for a while. However, what we haven't ever had before is a keyboard that combines the two, marrying the high-end typing ability of mechanical switches with the pizzazz of 16.7 million different colours of...

RGB backlighting is useful and fun; Typing experience is excellent; Premium build materials

Programming the lighting is laborious; Features removed compared to previous K70

Corsair K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

Bling. It's the one word that perfectly sums up the Corsair K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. The RGB part is the reason why, as these are the three individual LEDs that can be found in each [...]

Cherry Mechanical switches; Brilliant Design; Scroll Wheel to control Volume; 16.8 million colour backlighting

Glitchy Drivers; Unintuitive Software; No onboard memory to store custom profiles and effects

So far so good. Had a K70 before this, and just wanted the nice light show, been eyeing it for a while until I finally pulled the trigger. No regrets

nice build; better lighting

just a bit darker since the led is housed on the pcb; not too big of a deal, software is a bit eh; but i'm slowly starting to learn it

Solid build quality and great typing means this product won't dissapoint!

Video review here: Written review here: There's a couple of different versions of the K70 you can pick up in stores. Depending on what type of switch you like, Corsair makes keyboards with Cherry MX red, blue or brown switches.

Metal build; classic Cherry feel; AWESOME media controls; comfortable wrist wrest; doesn't slide around; bright/customizable LED

REALLY thick USB cable containing 2 connectors

K70 RGB Rundown

If you are looking for good pre-installed effects and good build quality then look no further this is the keyboard for you. If on the other hand you are looking for true personalization with smooth user designed effects then proceed with caution.

Corsair K70 RGB mechanical keyboard review: Plenty of potential undercut by terrible software

The Corsair K70 and K95 RGB are the only keyboard models in this roundup that use Cherry MX switches-a relief for my fingers, after traipsing through...

Potential for beautiful and complex lighting effects; Cherry MX switches

Software unintuitive and needlessly complex for first-time users; Lighting is "stepped" instead of true 16.8 million RGB; Tons of light leakage
