The first tilt/shift lens Canon produced, the Canon TS-E 90mm f/2.8 Tilt-Shift Lens, is also Canon's highest optical performing tilt/shift lens. I don't like to be redundant in my reviews, but Canon's tilt/shift line shares many qualities.

Here's a few pics I've taken with it: http://automotomedia.net/showthread.php/82-Canon-90mm-TS-E-fun-for-taking-shots-of-cars-motorcycles! Rented a 45 and didn't like the image quality. This lense was considerably better and tack sharp when not tilted/shifted.
Light; Compact; SHARP
None for me
Canon have an impressive range of tilt and shift lenses for their full frame cameras, offering focal lengths of 17mm, 24mm , 45mm , 50mm and 135mm . Joining the line up is this new Canon TS-E 90mm f/2.8L Macro lens, focusing continuously down to a 1:2 magnification, a very useful half life size.
Shift lenses allow you to compensate perspective distortions (converging verticals) by shifting the optical path off its horizontal axis. By doing so the projected image (rectangle) on the film/sensor plane gets distorted to a trapezoid negating the original effect.
